J.J. Redick 1 yr $23,000,000 to go play for the 76ers

Didn't see that coming....or really understand it at all.

NBA salaries are getting crazy...especially when you compare them to the elite of the NFL.

I'm a fan of Redick and love the career he has carved out....but can't see what Phiily was thinking. Any ideas on why this move was made by Philly?

Philly's roster is made up of a bunch of young guys who are new to the league or have barely played due to injury. Redick is a what, 10+ year vet who can offer some mentorship.

Not much else going on today. NBA is coming on interesting times really. You've got about 6-8 teams who will try to knock off Golden State and/or Cleveland this season, and the other 20+ trying to figure out what they can do now to be competitive again in a couple years. I can't decide if it's good or bad for the league.

I would think an assistant coach that young players remember playing could be a mentor.

Just seems like silly money for 14 ppg and meh defense

Young guys on roster who are cheap. Salary cap space to burn. Not winning this year, so spend money on a guy for a year. It's not multi year, so not a big deal for a team with money.

Somewhere between #6-8 seed would be my guess. GS, Spurs, Houston, OKC, and probably Minnesota are all better.

Just to look at they are very meh but envisioning them going up and down the court....I think they'll look sweet. I like that they are different, even if they are going back to a traditional style from 60 years ago.
