My gf is from Buffalo, she said we are all pussies. They get 91 inches per year on average... and that is in the city, not the mountains where she is from, it's probably over 100 there.

Just for reference, they get 51 in Cleveland
Minneapolis is 43 inches.

My cousin in South Burlington, Vermont texted me Tuesday and she said that they got 33" OVERNIGHT up there. It was either Sunday or Monday night... Set a new record for snowfall from one storm. The old record was 30" over a 3 day period...

If I woke up and saw 33" of snow I would probably piss my pants, and then cry.

Not really though....realistically, you can grill the fish no matter how cold it is, the snow will keep your beer cold, and well, we all know you don't need any power to smoke on a doob.
All true. But when I get into the condition I'd be in under the influence of fish, beer and weed, I like to have the 360, TV and Internet at my disposal. Without those, I'd get twitchy...and that would begin the spree.

I went to Krogers after work to get some wine and coffee. Man that place looked like a hurricane had went through. I wish I had a camera to show you what was left of the bread aisle. Just some expensive Pepperidge Farms and some Rye. Meat department was picked clean and in shambles, as was the lunchmeat area.

Freakin unreal how people panic.

WTF it's only snow and it happens every Winter, a few times at that!

There better be beer left at the Athens Kroger once I get out of my night class tomorrow!

People are so stupid sometimes....ransacking Kroger over 2-6 inches of snow? I swear you would think that it had never snowed in central Ohio sometimes. The plows will have the roads clear a few hours after the storm is over.

I know from working in a store in college that there are people who go to the store every day. Every damn day. It just blew my mind. What's the point of having a fridge and freezer if you don't buy enough food to keep on hand for at least a few days? There is enough food in my house that if the shit really hit the fan, I wouldn't need to leave for at least 2-3 weeks...probably longer. The dry and canned goods pantry could probably last 2-3 months. Do people realize the kind of storm it would take to shut down an area for more than a couple of days in this day and age?

This snow coming in will be a nuisance, and nothing more. I have only seen a couple of winter storms in my entire life that were legitimately worth getting worked up about, and I am 30 years old. I missed the blizzard of 1978 but my dad tells me that was the real deal, and that nothing has even been close since.

Your Dad was correct. Winds reached 60-75 mph across the state, and the snow fall was extreme. A lot of the folks you see raiding Kroger's remember that winter all to well as once it hit, there was no leaving the house, for any reason. As a kid though, it kicked ass.

They closed all the local schools around here, and there isn't any accumulation yet! The snow isn't supposed to start until NOON.

WTF?

They could have at least had a 1/2 day, seeing as schools only have 3 snow days now.
I don't get it.
