Perceived Math:
6th is worth 1600
12th is worth 1200
33- 580, 108- 78
52- 380, 145- 33
6th is worth 1600
12th is worth 1200
33- 580, 108- 78
52- 380, 145- 33

If I were the Jets I would definitely keep pushing for #33/#108 if the Browns really want Trubs, but I'd settle for #52/#108. The Jets should get the better end of this deal, so an extra 50+ point swing their way in trade value seems fair.

What I don't get (and it obviously hasn't been verified) is that the Browns have supposedly been in love with Garoppolo since October. Unless the Patriots absolutely/positively will not trade him, why would you "settle" for the second best option (drafted QB) when you can get the guy you covet via trade? Obviously the Pats may be asking for a ton for JG but if he's your guy (and it's not ridiculous), do it.
Miles Garrett is the #1, odds on favorite of most franchises but if you LOVE a QB in this draft, why wouldn't you take him #1, since that's the most important position? I guess what I'm saying is "why settle for a QB when you might be able to trade for your guy?" If Trubisky's the guy you've wanted all along, he should be the #1 pick to ensure you get him. I'm not advocating they use that pick for him but if he's the guy you love, it would make sense.

I agree with your logic. Is it maybe that they're really confident they can move up to get him at a certain spot, with all of the picks they have? (Trubisky's not what I want...I'd move up from 12 for Lattimore or Hooker and that's about it)BR1986FB;1848937 wrote:What I don't get (and it obviously hasn't been verified) is that the Browns have supposedly been in love with Garoppolo since October. It was just me thinking out loud, more than anything. My mindset is that if Garoppolo, Cousins, Joe Schmoe, etc is the top guy that they REALLY want it's like by trading up for a guy like Trubisky (or whoever) is saying "oh well, didn't get OUR guy but at least we got a QB." I'm assuming they'd really like a drafted QB if they did that but why settle if you can get your guy and it's reasonable? I'm so tired of them getting the Weeden's & Manziel's (which were reaches) just because they need a QB.Benny The Jet;1848977 wrote:I agree with your logic. As a Browns fan, I would pretty fucking pissed if we gave up #33 to move up 6 spots.justincredible;1848929 wrote:If I were the Jets I would definitely keep pushing for #33/#108 if the Browns really want Trubs, but I'd settle for #52/#108. Yeah, I would be too. I don't expect the Jets would get that, it doesn't mean I'm not going to ask for it.Commander of Awesome;1848989 wrote:As a Browns fan, I would pretty fucking pissed if we gave up #33 to move up 6 spots.

It would mark another time the browns lost on a trade with the jets.Commander of Awesome;1848989 wrote:As a Browns fan, I would pretty fucking pissed if we gave up #33 to move up 6 spots.

When they traded down so the jets could draft sanchize. Yes in hindsight Sanchez is terrible, but the browns got me pennies compared to what most teams get for trading out of QB positions.justincredible;1849000 wrote:What were the previous losses?

Ugggh....Haden posting pics on his Instagram of him partying with Aaron Hernandez back in the day. I'm sure they were boys at Florida but kind of poor taste.

NFL releases its schedule tonight. Can't wait to see where their 13-14 losses come from.
