Paraphrasing:
"Chicago has never seen the talent like Lebron James"
"Blackhawks?, that is insensitive, we need to get that changed"

Heading east here in an hour or so. Gonna be a beautiful night for baseball.

Arrieta pitched a game in cold weather against the Mets in the playoffs last year and gave up 4 runs in 5 innings so hopefully that bodes well for the Tribe.

Great ratings last night.
Hope for MONSTER ratings tonight and maybe MLB will start games earlier than after 8....

What's the national pull for this? I'm assuming outside of Cleveland area and Chicago area...most of America pulling for Cubs, with that whole 108 year thing?

Also, maybe Ironman can answer this...but what happened with Arrieta this year? He went from being unreal last year and a couple starts at beginning of season, then seemed to have lost "it"?

IMO opinion he is somewhat wore down and not as near 100% as last year. The guy is an intense workout nut. He is jacked and if you charge the mound you better take your bat with you. The effect of the slight wear or huge innings and just normal wear is that his location isn't as crisp and his pitches didn't seem to have the movement they did during his incredible incredible run. IMO he's very comparable to Kluber but Kluber right now much nearer his peak level than Arrieta. He misses over the plate considerably more than last year and that's when he gets burnt.

This all being said he could very well go 8 innings of 2 hit ball. I'm gonna watch and see.

.
Rain prediction--- 40% at 8:00, 50% at 9:00, 60% at 10:00...let's score early and often...btw, if it goes the required minimum of five innings, do they call it or continue it? I'm assuming since it's the World Series they'll just postpone it and continue on the off day??

I'm really right down the middle but this playoff Indians team is luring me a bit more their way. The people on RedsZone are overwhelmingly for the Indians and it's nothing to do with Ohio.

If the Cubs fans invade your stadium (Reds, Brewers, Pirates, Cardinals) 90% of those fans are rooting Indians....but I'd guess the other 24 unaffiliated fan bases are pulling for the Cubs, but feel no one would really mind if the Indians one. Not many Indians haters...maybe Detroit

That is a great question.

Back in 2008 the game was tied in the bottom of the 6th and Selig went on record saying that they/he would not have allowed the game to end before a full 9 innings, and both teams knew that going in.

I dont know if any rule was put in place since then or if Manfred will have put that same edict out to both teams but I think a postseason game should be played the full 9

Yeah, I'd root for The Hitler Nazi Aryans before the Cubs.

I think they get it in and it will be not good weather but playoff baseball anyways.

All postseason games cannot be cut short. They have to go 9. They'll delay as long as possible and if they get 6 innings in and can't continue, they'll play the next day...or next possible day weather permitting.

Selig did this about 10 years ago after one of the Phillies World Series seasons.

2008. Phillies/Rays. Game 5. Was an elimination game. Game was tied in the 6th, but selig told both teams beforehand he wasnt going to let it end short. I assume that has been the case before and still would be but not sure if there has ever been a rule change to say it has to finish

If it ended tonight after 6 innings, and they continued tomorrow, would they postpone game 3? Or no and just not have an off day?

Not positive. I believe they finish on the off day

Let's put it this way if they had to postpone the game tonight and try to play tomorrow it would be damn near impossible since it's going to rain all day… That would push the continuation back into Friday… Supposedly, the first game in Chicago . They are going to get the game in tonight ... Book it.

I figured as much, even if it ended at 3:00am--they have to get this in today
