Really not much else to say. Just win the damn thing now. Kluber is going in game 1. The Cubs haven't announced any pitching. We know it won't be Hendricks in game 1 but Lester, Lackey and Arrieta would be available. Hard to imagine it wouldn't be Lester on normal rest unless they think he needs extra rest for some reason.

All games will be at 8:08. Tell your boss not to expect you in the office early on Wednesday/Thursday.

Cubs might get getting Schwarber back from his April knee injury. The thought is that he could DH for them. The Tribe might be getting Salazar back in some capacity but it remains to be seen.

I did lookup interleague records for this year. I don't know that it's relevant but the Indians were 13-7 and the Cubs were 15-5 so both were very good.

Go Tribe. Let's do this.

I will post a tl;dr this evening about the Indians opponent for those of you that really only watch mostly AL. I've probably watched 40-45 Cubs games this year so I have a pretty good feel on what they do.

Well, I've been confident in this team since about early May, never wavered on them when they had the big lead and lost some to start 2nd half. Was confident in both Boston and Toronto series (but not 3-0 and 4-1 confident, to be sure). Unfortunately (or fortunately, if they need more doubters???) I don't see the Tribe beating the Cubs. My guess is Cubs in 5 or 6. They are the only team I've said all season I thought would beat the Tribe. Fill pitching rotation would've changed this thought.

Hope I am wrong and will be living and dying with every pitch.

Lackey is no postseason slouch for sure but we'll see if Maddon pushes his feelz aside and just gives him the Game 4 start. If he goes with Lackey twice I feel this helps the Tribes chances, but again he's a tough SOB out on that mound and he competes every pitch....but I feel the Indians get to him.

Was hoping for the Dodgers, I just think the Cubs are too loaded offensively and starting rotation is really strong. I'll go with Cubs in 6, but either way...what a run by the Tribe. Would have loved to have a completely healthy team going into this thing.

As for Schwarber, I just can't imagine a guy who fully tore his ACL in April and hasn't seen in-game pitching, making much of an impact in the World Series.

I have to agree...the Cubs are the better team, better roster, better year...but baseball is one of those sports that it's not an uncommon thing for the underdog to win in a series. In the marathon that is an MLB season, the Cubs had two stretches this year whereby they really didn't play well. Those lulls are possible with any team at any time.

If forced to bet, I would lay money on Chicago, but nothing would surprise me in this series.

Cleveland announced their first 3 starters...

Kluber
Bauer
Tomlin

Apparently Bauer's finger is sewn up well enough to start Wednesday night.

Game 4 is not announced but Francona did mention that Kluber is an option on 3 days rest depending how everything shakes out.

Rather unbiased report from the Chicago Tribune...until the predictions anyway :)

They gave 3 of the 5 areas an edge to the Indians (Bullpen, Offense, Coach) while the Cubs got the starters and defense. Then every writer went on to pick the Cubs.

Bauer on Wednesday makes sense even without the extra days to get healthy. The Pen needs a day off after Bauer in case he bleeds again AND he won't have to bat, which could have adverse affects on it as well. Tomlin is also probably the best hitter out of the pitchers (but I doubt that had anything to do with the decision).

Bullpen and defense and coaching I'd give tribe. Defense has been pretty stellar this post season. Base running us too

Tomlin is 6 for 12 batting for his career. He slipped to 2 for 5 this year.

I can't do anything at work but read every single article written about this World Series. I said on the playoff thread, I just wish it wasn't the Indians...not because I don't think we can win, because I have too much respect for them and their fans. Not that it matters much.

I obviously hope the Cubs win (I don't share the confidence in them on this thread, I've witnessed too many bad things over the years), but I hope for a great series!

Best of luck!

I expect another sweep. Pitching sucks and bats have gone silent.

NO. Start Salzar in that scenario.

I actually hate it. Should have been Sheen and Belle. Total fail.
