krambman I agree except I didn't think it was going out of my way to say black in the title. I thought it was relevant to the humorous line about a black guy turning red. Using a Mexican server comment is not relevant.
Tiernan, I changed nothing. 'turning red' is being embarassed. The man was embarassed, my friend laughed it off and they both will live happily ever after. You will live a miserable life hating people in Florida, Tebow, and boiled peanuts. Your loss. Stay classy, God Bless Tiernan
Yes, him being black and turning red is relevant to the punch line of the joke at the end of the story. It is not relevant enough to the story to warrant being in the title. Why not just title it "My friend caught a guy in his truck last night"? You can still talk about this being the only time that your friend has seen a black person turn red. Again, I'm not saying that you're racist, you're probably not, but when you point out someones race in the thread title and their race is largely irrelevant to the story you are telling (the story is about accidentally mistaking someone else's vehicle for yours, the joke about a black person turning red is a runny anecdote tacked onto the end), it makes it appear racist. If you can't comprehend how that can come off as racist (since clearly it did to a lot of people) then you may not be as socially adept as you think.

Fab1 living in FL doesn't make you a redneck but it sure gives you an excellent opportunity to live next door (both sides) to one!
Ohio, by and large, is just a sad extension of the South when it comes to tolerance and intelligence. Only difference is the accent.
Well, I live in Columbus, so I can't speak to much for the rest of the state, but C-bus is actually one of the most tolerant cities in America. A very diverse population which is a microcosm of the country and it is perhaps the most gay-friendly city next to San Francisco.
