Hard to believe that it is week 10 of the football season. Bobcats and Huskies have already qualified for the play-offs . Chippewa, Dalton, Hillsdale and Smithville all still have a chance to get in. Smithville and Hillsdale meet this Friday as does Dalton and Northwestern, Norwayne and Waynedale and Chippewa and Rittman. If the Smithies win Friday they will still need a little help to get in. All in all it should be a very interesting week 10.

I speak from the heart since Ive been "exposed", maybe today, maybe after friday night/Saturdaynight, I may be retiring from this board. Lol at working out with rubber bands. (Plyometrics is an effective workout under the right circumstances, but IMHO not for young boys full of testosterone, trying to bulk up) My son got yelled at for lifting weights this summer...instead of doing rubber band and box jumps, And I qoute " Isnt wrestling season over? Then why are you working out with Reid Stanley and not the FB team?" Isnt summer weight training in mid July a GOOD thing for a soon to be 8th grader? Isnt working out with your mentor and cousin a good thing? It was OPTIONAL!!! Also a VERY talented athlete from Norwayne who has family at Waynedale and is/was considering moving here, was kicked out of Waynedales weight room because "we dont train other schools athletes". We lost a good one in that kid. He is a montser in Fb and wrestling.

Great year for the WCAL. Very competitive. Special congratz to the Bulldogs! We should have 4 teams in the playoffs.. Super proud of the whole league, Smithville right there too! Best of luck to the playoff teams... I'll be rooting hard for a deep WCAL run.. Definitely all teams are battle tested.

How on EARTH did Orrville beat Norwayne?

I know these degrees of separation don't actually matter, but they're fun to work out anyway:

Orrville loses to Triway 50-43.
Triway loses to Manchester 56-0 (I know it's Manchester, but that's still a pretty wide margin).
Manchester loses to Norwayne 45-14.

And still, Norwayne somehow loses to Orrville 27-6.

I love Wayne County football.

You don't REALLY think that all they do is use bands (not rubber bands, they are actually called stretch bands) in the weight room? Have YOU ever been in the weight room with the football team when they are lifting? You should start by firing your superintendent. Jon Ritchie had a meeting with other area administrators this week. He was overheard talking to someone about how much of a struggle it would be to watch the Triway/Orrville game on Friday because both teams are so horrible.

I wonder what he is saying about Waynedale behind closed doors? I imagine it's not very good if he is openly bashing the kids and coaches at one of his schools whom happen to be the most successful of his three schools.

Congrats to the WCAL for getting four teams into the playoffs!!! Smithville once again loses to Hillsdale! If Smithville had a reliable kicker it could have been different. Norwayne and Northwestern both get home games and Dalton and Hillsdale will be on the road! Looks like the Bulldogs have a tough one, going against Kirtland the defending State Champ! and the Falcons get Cuyahoga Heights (who beat Kirtland in the regular season). Best of luck to the WCAL this coming weekend!!!
