Which has to be streamed and buffered thru your phone. Not exactly user friendly in a car. Prone to losing signal and limited on searches. Not a good comparison to satellite radio.

Yeah, I mean, I love Spotify...when I'm somewhere with wifi. When I'm in my car, not so much.

Now that this thread has been rerouted; The price point of $6-$7 a month is worth it to listen to live sports while driving, plus I do enjoy Howard somewhat and the ladies can have their music channels.

I love having Sirius. Just got 5 months for $17 yesterday. I always cancel and then find a good deal to renew.

The satellite radio comparison is ridiculous. End of story.

Now see, I only use my phone for music in my car. I like it (to be forthright, I use Google Play Music, and not Spotify).

However, for people who drive in patchy areas or who have limited data, I can see plenty of problems with it. Serius provides a valuable service for a specific niche.

I use both my iPod Shuffle and phone, but just music that I downloaded, not any sort of radio.

I enjoy Howard, sports talk, politics, comedy skits plus all the music. No comparison to terrestrial radio which plays same songs over and over and not to mention a million commercials.

Some of the newer model vehicles are coming out with in-cabin wifi. I could see radio apps being very much the leader in travel music in a few years.

Do you have any details on the in-car wi-fi that Chevrolet is advertising? I have to believe there's some monthly charge for that which will probably be considerably more that a Serius subscription.

Actually just saw this on chevy.com: "Available Wi-Fi requires compatible mobile device, active OnStar service and data plan. Data plans provided by AT&T."

LOL. You think they just gave you free internet in your car? It's definitely attached to a high priced cell phone carrier.

Howard Stern makes Sirius worth it alone. Add in the sports coverage and that's icing on the cake. I drive a lot for work, and having Sirius has helped pass time on a lot of long road trips.

We have in car wifi available in the Dodge Dorango we just bought last year. It is expensive and does not work very well. It was $30 per month (or $20 per week) and they just raised it to $40 a month. We do not buy it all the time, but do buy it when we make the trip back to OH from NC for holidays. It does keep the wife and kids entertained. It is still tied to phone reception and goes out when we are going through the mountains of WV. Also does not have the greatest band with when multiple devices trying to use it.

You can sync 3333 songs offline per device. Is that only for the paid version?

I've only had Sirius in rental cars but I have never found a station I would pay for. I also don't really like talk radio
