Yes censorship, invasion of privacy, and restricting free speech is the way forward!ptown_trojans_1;1799771 wrote:Here is the thing, you can yell and scream about bombing the shit out of ISIS and doing more about borders, but it kind of misses the real area we need to focus, the tech area.
As long as ISIL/ ISIS has the means to post things online and to carry a folllowing through the internet, it is a whack a mole and nearly impossible to stop.
You want to defeat ISIS, tackle them on the battlefield, but more importantly, tackle them online.
That is the area where we are failing.
It is complex issue as it means potential free speech issues via youtube or facebook, or figuring how new software to flag that content.
If you look at lone wolfs over the last few years, most of them have been inspired by information from online videos. That is more the threat that actual ISIS locations.
Of course, destroying ISIS where they are is important, but also stopping the sites and videos that led this idiot to do things like this tragic event is crucial.

We have the prez telling us one thing, and the CIA director, under oath, telling us something very different.
We have terrorists entering the country because of the prez's effectively open borders policies.
We have others becoming terrorists right in front of us, but because of political correctness we do little about it.
The neck of the bottle is at the top: we have a prez that is unfit for the job; an empty suit Harvard lawyer that never accomplished a damn thing in the real world..............an appeaser and sympathizer on top of it all; and he is the commander-in-chief.
We cannot win as long as he is in charge. And if you think Hillary Clinton would be any better, you are dead wrong.

The FBI didn't close the loop on this individual because there was a lack of evidence available through legal means. What "policies" has the President effectively changed? Are you referring to the refugees being brought in? We've been bringing in refugees for a long time. And they've been coming from countries where Islam is the predominant religion for a long time.
As for the terrorists forming "right in front of us," what would you have us do? I don't think political correctness is causing anything to be missed here.
I'd rather the president focus on inner city violence, ie Chicago and Baltimore, than this.QuakerOats;1799803 wrote:The FBI closed the investigations, either for lack of evidence, or some other reason; we don't exactly know why. Of possible interest -----the CVE hamstrings the FBI; requiring the FBI to partner with muslim community leaders, i.e. muslim brotherhood. Maybe the prez could change the policy regarding refugees. Or, just because we have always done it, we should just keep doing it. Duh. Anyone with one-half ounce of brain realizes we damn well better change the program and begin to completely scrutinize everyone coming in to this country. The CIA director implied the very same thing today; they understand these radicals are using refugee flows to their advantage. This is what makes it so incredibly hard to understand obama; it is as if he is helping their cause --- bizarre.
A strong leader as prez, strong law enforcement, strong neighborhoods, strong families all go in to the equation of helping to limit home-grown radicalization. No one said it would be easy. But for God's sake quit handcuffing our law enforcement and military personnel; allow them to do their jobs effectively.
We can only win it together; and that will not occur as long as the Divider-in-Chief is the prez. Sorry to say.

I'm not saying it will. I just don't think we'll win it through legislative initiatives at all.QuakerOats;1799803 wrote:We can only win it together; and that will not occur as long as the Divider-in-Chief is the prez. Sorry to say.
For as much as most of you belittle QQ for his partisan rants, he is spot on with this. The first thing the leader of our country did in his remarks following the massacre was to tie in his and his "progressive" buddies narrative for gun control.... and in the days following, his minions have reenacted the hyperbole, even filibustering the Senate for controls and laws which would not have prevented the attack in Orlando, just as they would not have prevented Sandy Hook, or San Bernadino. People who are hell bent on perpetrating mayhem and killing people are going to do it, guns regulations or not. Boston, Paris, Brussels occurred where either no gun was used, or strict regulations already were in place.QuakerOats;1799745 wrote:ISIS exterminates homosexuals, among others. Until we come to grips with who they are, by defining them, and develop a strategy and a plan to deal with them, how can we possibly win the war. Yet, in clockwork fashion, liberals and rags like the New York Times attempt to use this terrorist rampage to somehow blame republicans, the NRA, and gun owners in general, all for political gain. It is damn sickening to witness supposed leaders of this country parade around making complete fools of themselves and doing absolutely nothing worthwhile to defeat this radical hideous element that continues to gain ground on free people.

This is my favorite argument that comes out after every tragedy. Call for Acton: We have to do X to stop this from happening again.
