Here is the thing, you can yell and scream about bombing the shit out of ISIS and doing more about borders, but it kind of misses the real area we need to focus, the tech area.
As long as ISIL/ ISIS has the means to post things online and to carry a folllowing through the internet, it is a whack a mole and nearly impossible to stop.
You want to defeat ISIS, tackle them on the battlefield, but more importantly, tackle them online.

That is the area where we are failing.
It is complex issue as it means potential free speech issues via youtube or facebook, or figuring how new software to flag that content.
If you look at lone wolfs over the last few years, most of them have been inspired by information from online videos. That is more the threat that actual ISIS locations.
Of course, destroying ISIS where they are is important, but also stopping the sites and videos that led this idiot to do things like this tragic event is crucial.

We have the feds who were unable to close multiple loops where there were glaring indications this radical was going to go off.

We have the prez telling us one thing, and the CIA director, under oath, telling us something very different.

We have terrorists entering the country because of the prez's effectively open borders policies.

The FBI didn't close the loop on this individual because there was a lack of evidence available through legal means. He was investigated twice but not pursued as a result of evidence.

What "policies" has the President effectively changed? Are you referring to the refugees being brought in? We've been bringing in refugees for a long time. And they've been coming from countries where Islam is the predominant religion for a long time.

As for the terrorists forming "right in front of us," what would you have us do? I don't think political correctness is causing anything to be missed here.

First of all, how does the CVE hamstring the FBI?

Second, why are you assuming that Muslim community leaders are inherently members of the Muslim Brotherhood?

A couple things ...

If you're suggesting that we should change it, why now? Shouldn't Bush have done so after 9/11 by extension of this same application of reasoning?

Moreover, just because it's what they're using doesn't mean what you're suggesting would help.

Let's apply the same logic to gun laws. A number of gun crimes are committed with legally-owned firearms. Would you suggest that changing gun laws will prevent these sorts of gun crimes, or will the perpetrators just find another way to go about them?

Why would we not apply the same logic to refugees? Just because terrorist groups are using them, it doesn't follow that they have to. And given that this most recent one was committed by a natural-born US citizen, I'd say the cat is out of the bag already even if such close screening of refugees would have otherwise made a difference.

For as much as most of you belittle QQ for his partisan rants, he is spot on with this. The first thing the leader of our country did in his remarks following the massacre was to tie in his and his "progressive" buddies narrative for gun control.... and in the days following, his minions have reenacted the hyperbole, even filibustering the Senate for controls and laws which would not have prevented the attack in Orlando, just as they would not have prevented Sandy Hook, or San Bernadino. People who are hell bent on perpetrating mayhem and killing people are going to do it, guns regulations or not. Boston, Paris, Brussels occurred where either no gun was used, or strict regulations already were in place.
QQ used the words "doing nothing"....I call it shameless exploitation of a tragedy for political gain.

With almost all of the mainstream media being in the tank for, and being nothing more than propaganda outlets for the liberal agenda, it has been an easy sell to the public. The New York Times, once a paper of some reputation, has lost all credibility in editorializing that the GOP and the NRA are responsible for the attack. The Prez and his minions have insinuated the same. They need to be challenged and repudiated and exposed for the fraud they are attempting to perpetrate. The attack did not occur because we failed to pass proposed gun measures, it occurred because of radical Islamic terrorists who are bent on attacking our lifestyle and our culture. It is on their heads that the responsibility lies....not the NRA....not the GOP.

The administration promotes this deliberate false link to distract us from their responsibility for 6-8 years of ineffectually handling the growth of this terrorist organization. It promotes it because there are millions of people who will buy it from a media that won't pursue the correct questions.

What should we do differently? I don't know, nor do I expect anyone on this board to know because that's not our job...that's not our expertise....that's what we expect our elected officials to do.
But I will say this. The problem is not being handled correctly and is not only on our doorstep, but it's in the house.
The first thing with solving a problem is to correctly identify it. This administration has failed to do that. Despite Paris, Brussels, Boston, San Bernadino, Orlando...the Prez won't call a spade a spade. He tried to blow it off a few days ago calling it semantics....I say it's more than that.
....More than that, the attack in Orlando was not the fault of the GOP and it's sure not the fault of guns.
