Memorial Day Weekend May 27-30, 2016 Jackson Township Safety Center Be part of the fifth annual Field of Heroes. On Memorial Day weekend, May 27-30, the corner of Fulton and Wales, at the Jackson Township Safety Center, will become a spectacular display of red, white and blue with hundreds of American flags flying row upon row to honor the heroes in our lives. The Rotary Club of Jackson Township is sponsoring the event in collaboration with the Jackson-Belden Chamber of Commerce, Jackson Township Board of Trustees, Fire Department, Police Department, Parks Department, Jackson Local Schools and numerous volunteers. The Field of Heroes is an opportunity for community members to pay tribute to their personal heroes (living or deceased) by contributing a $35 flag to fly in the Memorial Day display. Heroes come in many forms: veterans, current members of the military, firefighters, teachers, police officers, coaches, mentors, medical professionals, family members, and friends. It a very nice display very emotional, somber visual but at the same time a proud, honorable feeling of gratitude. Those of you who live in Canton area should take a drive and walk around it worth seeing. Maybe next year you can support someone with a flag.
