So the smartest/best thing that could happen for Browns is Gordon comes back, does well...then someone wants him bad enough and we trade him immediately for picks right? I have about 0.00% confidence that dude stays clean for more than a year

No, that is not the smartest thing. If he plays well you keep him. God forbid we keep some talent on the roster for once. He is on a very cheap contract too. This is why all the people who cried for Gordon to be cut were idiots. The Browns had nothing to gain by cutting him.Benny The Jet;1804673 wrote:So the smartest/best thing that could happen for Browns is Gordon comes back, does well...then someone wants him bad enough and we trade him immediately for picks right? But now they can gain by him doing well and trading him. You're telling me you'd take a 1,000 yd. receiver on this god-awful team for this year, keep your fingers crossed he stays clean the rest of his career (which his entire past proves he can't ) instead of trading him for picks, and letting him get kicked out of the league on someone else's team? Hard pass.like_that;1804681 wrote:No, that is not the smartest thing. If he plays well you keep him. God forbid we keep some talent on the roster for once. He is on a very cheap contract too. Gordon is a top 5 WR in the league when he's on the field. You don't trade that away because he MIGHT get suspended.

lolno, best thing that could happen is Gordon gets his head on straight and repeats 2013 for the next 5 yrs.Benny The Jet;1804673 wrote:So the smartest/best thing that could happen for Browns is Gordon comes back, does well...then someone wants him bad enough and we trade him immediately for picks right? I just don't see the point of risking it, when you're a team rebuilding and a coaching staff that's trying to weed out the absolute crap that this has been on and off the field the last few yearsSportsAndLady;1804685 wrote:Yes.

BINGO, such a weird logic. We have a great player, trade his ass now for pennies on the dollar!!!SportsAndLady;1804685 wrote:Yes.

Well yes. I just have zero faith in him staying clean. It all comes down to if they fully trust him to stay clean. It'll be pretty obvious how they feel soon..they wouldn't trade him unless they don't trust him obviouslyCommander of Awesome;1804688 wrote:lolno, best thing that could happen is Gordon gets his head on straight and repeats 2013 for the next 5 yrs.

It can't be much worse than it has been. Bet I wouldn't have drafted weeden, quinn, and manziel.Commander of Awesome;1804691 wrote:Glad you're not the GM.

I will give you that. I am willing to bet collectively as a board we would have done a better job drafting for the Browns.Benny The Jet;1804693 wrote:It can't be much worse than it has been. Bet I wouldn't have drafted weeden, quinn, and manziel.

There is no doubt. Doesn't make trading Gordon for pennies on the dollar a good idea.like_that;1804695 wrote:I will give you that. I am willing to bet collectively as a board we would have done a better job drafting for the Browns.

I think right now Antonio Brown, Julio Jones, AJ Green, Odell Beckham, and DeAndre Hopkins would be my top 5. Josh Gordon could be up with them though, I mean his last full season he led the NFL in receiving yards in only 14 games, and that was with Weeden, Hoyer, and Jason Campbell at QB, lol.vball10set;1804706 wrote:Top 5 receiver? lol

Gordon has a lot to prove to be back in that convo again. He definitely was in it before he fucked up his career. Hopefully he has an amazing act 2.

Gordon has to prove it again but he burst onto the scene with the 2nd highest yardage per game since the Super Bowl era began.
He may never get back to where he left off...but he didn't leave to smoke week as a 1,000 yard receiver. That's insulting to what he was doing on the field. He was closer to a 2,000 yard receiver.
He's not top 5 now...but he was top 3 in a hurry.

What a fucking national disgrace. It only took ocho cinco 14 hours to lose faith in the browns and sashi. Fire Hue Jackson and start this dumpster fire over again.Commander of Awesome;1805303 wrote:http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/08/01/chad-johnson-apparently-wasnt-long-for-browns-camp/

"Ocho Cinco" left to talk with his daughter, explain to her why he couldnt make an even, and immediately returned. From what I read. So, ummm......read the click bait before you post a headline?
