I had a girl who gave her 2 weeks, then did nothing but complain about everything and everyone (even to patients). I finally (as nicely as I could) told her if it was that bad here, she should probably just go ahead and go. So she did. It was only 3 days early, but I just couldn't take anymore.

To summarize: poor people.

Yeah, go figure. The majority of the problems stem from Boomers who are unable to adapt and learn new processes.

Most of the boomers at our place have a mentality that since they've put the time in they shouldn't have to do anything anymore.

Well I didn't want to make this about boomers, but yeah...
Boomers are the worst.

Good. Too many people think they are owed shit in the world these days. Oh, you've been here for 10 years and you get paid $100k+, yet you don't do shit, then F right off. Just being at a place for a few years shouldn't grant you immunity.

I had every intention of leaving the school I was teaching at in Detroit, so I could move back to Ohio. On the last work day of school, the principal/asst. gave me a bad review. I asked if it was going to follow me, and they said "no." So, I let me feelings be known in a professional way about misplaced values and things.
I remember they wrote me up because I left students alone in the room, which was against school policy. I left the room because a fight broke out in the hallway, and I was the only man on the floor. At the beginning of the year, my first principal said that even though the charter school policy was to have the kids wear dress shoes, we weren't going to enforce it because we were in Detroit, and some of these kids could only afford 1 pair of shoes. In April, we got a new principal, and she wanted us to write office referrals for students who didnt have dress shoes. I refused to do so, so I got another write up.
At the end of the year, I told both of them what I thought. I told them I felt bullied by the them. I told them they were probably 2 of the worst administrators I had ever seen, and that many of the white staff felt that they were racist.

I've never had to work a low level blue collar job so "No" the answer is "No".

Most alcoholics have a hard time getting regular work. Seek help.
