I definitely need a new mattress...12 years old and hips can feel it a bit

I have a meh drill....should upgrade to at least middle of the line+

A couple rooms in our house have some crazy old carpet....should upgrade to newer or put down a wood flooring

Need an upgrade of brown dress shoes and winter dress attire

I'll be forced in time to upgrade my vehicle as it's a 2005 with 170,000 and paint wearing fast....but love my Accord

Ha! It's like you are spying on me.

The Mrs and I purchased a mattress in June after she was feeling the old one. She had it before we started dating and we've been married for 12 years.

After a leaking toilet just about flooded our main floor, we had the carpet replaced with hardwood. GREAT decision. We over-estimated the 10% the store recommended and ended up with enough to do our kids' rooms. (Very small rooms though.) Again, fantastic suggestion by the Mrs and I'm glad we went with it.

I'm currently rocking the same brown dress shoes from 2001. Same goes for my black shoes. I'm long overdue.

I'm still rocking my 1999 Honda Accord. It just flipped 300k on the odometer. Paint is nearly gone. Looks awful. But she's my baby. I'd love to reach 400k but I doubt that happens. I've been asked by a few people (to include the Mrs) when I was going to buy a new one. My standard answer is "When I'm broke down on the highway and I call my wife to pick me up, we'll head straight to the dealership."

Additionally...

Shortly after the purchase of ourmattress our refrigerator died. Used the purchase of a new one as an upgrade opportunity. We went from (I think) 20 cu. ft. to 30 cu. ft. HUGE difference in space. The old one came with the house. 12 years later, along with the two kids, the space is welcomed.

About two weeks after that our hot water heater died. Went from a 40g to a 65g. Figured with the addition of two kids who are now at showering age, we may need the extra few gallons.

As for the drill - don't skimp. Just my $0.02.

Probably will need a new car in the next year or 2. I'm not really sure I want to get a car being in the city though.

Foolish Boomer logic. Just sleep in your fox hole and wait for the enemy to cut your throat out.

Seriously, I posted in the splurge thread that I just upgraded my grill. My wife and I have wanted to paint our house for the last year or so. So I think that'll get done sometime soon. As for flooring. Our dining room as carpet, I hate it. My dream would be a nice distressed wood floor, but I'm not sure that's the right room to put that in (losts of traffic) and I'm not an interior decorator but I'm positive it would look shitty considering the room leading into the dining room has travertine.

My mattress is about 11 years old and badly caved in the middle, but it doesn't physically bother me. I've had girls joke that I do it on purpose because if you are sleeping two people in it you tend to roll towards the middle.

Black dress shoes I wear to work are a disaster as well.

Golf clubs were my first beginner set, and paid about $300 for them 6 years ago. The last two summers I've played a lot, probably 20+ times, and am now starting to shoot in the high 80's/low 90's. Probably due for an upgrade.

Immediate future: New computer. Have Macbook Air 1st gen, and it's on it's last leg. Wife needs more powerful computer for work.

Near future: new car, wife's car is a 2003 VW Beetle, it's got 90k on the odo. Fine for her use, but I'm car-less and will soon need a vehicle to get around.

Distant future: tired of renting, saving for a house

Going to need to upgrade the car soon here. I have an '04 Civic with 185,000 miles. I'd love to keep it longer, but with the kid on the way, I want to have a 4 door instead of a 2 door. Getting a car seat in and out is going to be a pain in the dick. But I'm going to deal with it for as long as possible.

I'd like to get a new grill sometime in the future. But I will probably just replace the burners and heat plates and get a few more years out of it.

We're also in the process of finishing up our basement. Laying 1300 sq ft of tile has been a bitch, but it's coming to an end soon. Once that's done, I may upgrade the 42" Vizio we have in our living room with a bigger/better model and move that TV to the basement.

Otherwise, we are in a pretty good spot with everything for now.

Your mistaking me for some other dipshit moron. Unlike the cooler, I'll use my bed more than a handful of times per year

Been working recently on a fixer-upper. It needs a lot of work. Today I got a pneumatic nailer that is going to make all the trim work much easier. Hard to believe I'm actually looking forward to doing the finish work! Ground zero has been the master bedroom and it is looking great!

I need to upgrade my TV. I currently have a 27in, anytime I go over to a buddies place I realize how much of a fail my TV is. I only use my TV for sports in the fall tho, so it's hard to justify the cost.

That'a about where I'm at. Have a 32', which is smaller than anyone I know, but can't justify buying another one because I don't do much entertaining at my place and usually go out to someone else's place to hang out/party/whatever.

My laptop turns off immediately if it comes unplugged. New battery doesn't help. I've had it since 2008 so I'm probably due.

I just bought a 55 inch TV on Saturday to upgrade my 32 inch. I don't why I never did it sooner. I'm also happy I didn't spend the $300 more to get the 65 inch of the same type of TV. For now the 55 is big enough.

I need to upgrade my work clothes but I'm just lazy. Like all of you my dress shoes are going on about 6-7 years. I also need to upgrade my desktop computer its over 8 years old. When I upgrade that I'm sure I'll just get a laptop as I never do any computer gaming anymore.

Depends on who you are.....I take the dog for a walk most evenings and I go down through a residential area of smaller houses and duplexes...none are what you'd consider very nice but the lesser ones all have gigantic 60-70 inch tv hanging on the wall.

I'm happy as hell with my 40 inch Samsung.

Monday after the Super Bowl are the best prices. 18 months ago Scored a 60" for $500, 6 months ago $160 for a 32". Better prices that any day before Christmas including black Friday.

All of you that need a damn TV need to live closer to me. Getting ready to sell a 60" LG plasma that's two years old, my mother-in-law is asking me to get rid of it, as it was what my father-in-law watched in their basement and he passed away last month.
