Interesting. I am curious why you do dips on Friday when you do chest wed?

Yesterday I did.

DB Bench RPT
Shoulder Press RPT
Military Press RPT
Dips, bodyweight to my max (no freaking belts at the gym I went to)

Stepped on the scale today for the first time in a few weeks. Was at 200 lbs, from about 210 lbs. I'm in my 5th week of P90x, and haven't lifted in years before this. Should I be expecting more weight loss than that? I've changed my diet, but not for the worse. I ate more junk before, but I usually didn't eat breakfast/lunch, and had a weight-loss shake instead. Now I will eat breakfast, salad for lunch, and healthy snacks twice per day, but the workout added.

Weight is an arbitrary number.

The most important number to concentrate on is your belt size.

Definitely have lost inches, but still struggling to lose the beer gut. Probably because I drink a ton of beer on the weekend :)

Sounds about right to me with p90x. You don't get as much cardio with p90x, so you aren't going to be losing the weight numbers as fast as you would with insanity. If you are worried about your weight number, and your waist size, I would go with insantiy instead. I found I was getting too bulky with p90x. Also could be a combo of many things. Maybe you aren't working out that hard (doing chair pull-ups before burning out), or maybe you need to make an adjustment to your diet.

This.

Had an idiotic chubby friend, who thought he was in good shape, because he weighed 177 at one point. One of my friends who was legit about 5% body fat weighed about 184 (he was short, about 5'8). The chubby 177 lber thought he was in better shape than the 5% body fat friend LMAO.

Can't out exercise a bad diet. Give it up for a few weeks. You will lower your tolerance and get a jump start better core. I am NOT saying give it up altogether.

I've gone to just drinking on the weekends. But I'll drink probably 20 beers in a weekend, sometimes more.

If I feel the need for some beer/alcohol, I'll have a few shitty Mich Ultras (like 2-3)

I'm an alcoholic, and I like to drink until I black out, then get behind the wheel. Don't judge me.

Why? How can you enjoy beer if you drink that much of it? Stop drinking the mass produced InBev shit and grab a sixer of Bell's or Founder's or even Sam Adams. You must drink a glass of water for every beer. You'll enjoy beer much more this way.

On the other hand, in just 2 1/2 weeks of dieting, 1 1/2 weeks of the classic P90x program and 2 1/2 weeks of working out, I already had to move in a belt hole and my pants are still falling off of me.

You go boy!

Honestly, though, congrats. I think I'm losing the most inches off my enormous ass (hereditary). May start adding more cardio into my routine to help lose some of this belly fat.

Why not do the lean or doubles program?

Try actually drinking good beer. You won't drink as much. Also, beer gut is a myth imo. I have seen many people drink all the time and stay in shape. Just have to watch what you eat when you are drunk.

Thinking about lean on my next go-round. I don't have the available time to do the doubles, with young kids.
