This. My biggest complaint on weddings is where the service is compared to the reception, as well as time in between. Have been to numerous weddings where the ceremony was at 2, then reception at 6. What are you supposed to do for 4 hours. And if it is 30 minutes from your hometown or you are from out of town, do you go home, go to a bar? It is dumb.
We had our wedding and reception at the same place, and had cocktails and food in between while we were taking pictures. I get that some people want to get married at a church, but get married at 5 then, and have cocktail hour at the location so guests can drive straight there. Catholics probably are the worst at this since they have mass on Saturday afternoons so it forces them to get married early in the day.
