The government seems to be forceful of what they believe is correct for the country. We are no longer a country of sovereign states but verging very close to socialism led by the US government. Is a form of civil war inevitable in our future?

Are you serious? LoL Let me guess you don't like they approved gay marriage. I'm assuming you also didn't like when the supreme court struck down interracial marriage and segregation laws from certain states?

this administration has done a great job with pushing an agenda that basically ignores what people want. Elections in the future will right the ship.

I simply don't like the fact that the states are getting their sovereign rights trampled by the feds. I didn't mention gay marriage or anything implying race, you stated that.

Ehh if we could get rid of the south, our national iq would probably increase, welfare and unemployment would go down and we wouldn't have to hear about SEC football.

Of course we would have to find a way to keep Florida. Fun place to vacation and I'd rather not have to use a passport.

Tia is actually good for republicans. Republicans need to make this about foreign policy and the economy and less about social issues. Republicans IMO would win issues about the economy but are absolutely terrible on social issues. The social issues swing the middle voters to the democrats side.

I think the comment on Civil War II is a bit of a stretch at this point. But George Will had a great op-ed after the obamacare ruling. Every once in awhile, you we see me go off on a rant about "progressivism" and how dangerous it is.

No but I think it's pretty safe to say we're seeing a more moderate version of the 1960s play out. Thankfully we have not had a major assassination or war in which a draft was required or shit would really hit the fan

We can only hope future elections will do this. "Free Handout Nation" has gotten so used to the perks Barry & Company have been handing out they may not care and will just keep voting Democrat.

I do agree with the opening comment about Socialism. If the clown in charge had his way, guys like Warren Buffet & Bill Gates would be on the same financial "playing field" as Joe Schmoe flipping a burger at McDonalds.

Hopefully it just gets more silly and benign as they run out of crap to complain about. They're essentially professional cry babies and giving in to one or even all their demands doesn't mean they'll stop crying and go home - they derive meaning and superiority for caring passionately about things most people will never give a shit about.

No that's not right at all. The Constitution exists to protect the rights of states and individuals against usurpation by a central government thru checks and balances, and what George Will is writing about.

Although I don't care, it's disturbing you are now "homophobic" if you believe in traditional marriage. I think it's 2 different view points. Again, I would vote FOR IT but the intolerance of a different view point is just the same to me.
