Looks like Marcus Thornton, Ty Lawson, and Kevin Martin will all be bought out next

Thorton - not a great shooter, worse defender. No thanksHighRoller74;1783472 wrote:Looks like Marcus Thornton, Ty Lawson, and Kevin Martin will all be bought out next
Martin - better shooter, but not much else. DGAF either way
Lawson - If Mo continues to QQ about this knees might help.

Not sure what the Cavs are going to with the two open rosters spots.

Thornton shoots 34% from 3pt land.
Martin shoots 37% from 3pt land.
Not really sure either brings anything. Martin is like 6-7 and brings more size as a defender, but neither is gonna actually be able to stop anyone. Not sure they need a 4th PG (unless Mo is actually out) so Id pass on Lawson as well.
I guess, the question is, since they will both be on the 2nd team, can either sitll create their own shot? From what Ive seen of both of them, they only hit open 3s, and Im not sure anyone on the Cavs 2nd unit is gonna get them many open looks. This isnt like a Frye situation where he will always get his looks because of the Pick and Pop offense. Not the case with a 2 guard.
Wouldnt see it as a bad move if they signed Martin or Thornton, but not sure it really makes them better either.

Part of that is on Lue. He saw Delly was getting eaten alive and left him out there. Could've put Shump or Lebron on him.slingshot4ever;1783523 wrote:delly kills us with his absence of 1 on 1 defense skills. Why he is on the floor in the final minute is beyond me

Fine by me, be huge if the Cavs could get a win with resting. KI needs a rebound game.wildcats20;1783613 wrote:Bron getting the day off today.

I don't mind the comments at all. I was at the game and the level of effort was piss poor at best for the cavs. They just came to DC and went thru the motions (very poorly). I think even Dion Waiters could have gotten to the basket as easily as the Wizards did today. If this game is a wake up call for them I am all for it. The Wizards aren't better than the cavs, and just because Lebron didn't play that's not an excuse to play like complete shit either.SportsAndLady;1783649 wrote:http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/14865943/jr-smith-says-concern-cleveland-cavaliers-extremely-high-another-loss
STFU, JR.
The cavs teams during the first Lebron era provided MUCH better effort than this team when Lebron didn't play and had a better record to show for it.

Also I'm happy somebody other than Lebron stepped up to say something. Can't play your worst basketball during the last portion of the regular season.

Good for JR.
The cavs are in trouble. Nobody fears them and they don't seem to care. We are all just handing the east to them, but they are far from a lock right now. They're playing poorly, especially on defense and they don't pass the ball.
Today lbj is out, so the ball should be moving like crazy. Instead kyrie dribbled and played iso and love played awful, like really fucking awful. Jr smith is the best player on this team right now and they didn't try to get him the ball or run him of screens.
Lue has done nothing to impress me at all. He's been a downgrade. But it's what the players wanted, so this is on them now.

Missed the game today but in the last two days I have seen these columns from Hooley and then Haynes about Kyrie and his lack of sharing the ball. It seems like the negativity has taken a slight shift from Love to Kyrie.Midstate01;1783665 wrote: Today lbj is out, so the ball should be moving like crazy. Another one after the Raptor game.

Thought this was extremely telling of how they are having severe problems with PG's since the All-Star game.
Add in Wall's numbers from today: 21 points on 8-of-11 from the field and 1-of-3 from three-point range to go with 13 assists.

Derrick Rose: 28 points on 11-of-17 from the field and 2-of-3 from three-point range to go with two assists.
Russell Westbrook: 20 points on 7-of-15 from the field and 1-of-3 from three-point range to go with 11 assists.
Reggie Jackson: 23 points on 9-of-17 from the field and 3-of-5 from three-point range to go with four assists.
Kemba Walker: 20 points on 7-of-13 from the field and 3-of-6 from three-point range to go with six assists.
Lowry: 43 points on 15-of-20 from the field and 2-of-5 from three-point range to go with nine assists.
That's right, since the break, starting point guards are averaging 26.8 points on 49-of-82 (59.7 percent) from the field, including 11-of-22 (50 percent) from three-point range. They are also averaging 6.4 assists.

Signed Jordan McRae to a 10 day contract. He scored 61 in a D-league game this year and went to Tennessee. No clue why they signed him. Maybe to give Kaun company on the bench.sleeper;1783478 wrote:Not sure what the Cavs are going to with the two open rosters spots.
Looks like it might be down to Martin or Thornton for the final spot.

who cares about the final spot? Honestly, if these guys can't get this together shame on all of them. The King doesn't play a game and everyone else puts forth no effort? What a joke this team does not have the heart of a champion.
