As far as making any "major" moves to try to remake the roster, with 30+ games to go, just has desperation written all over it. Maybe acquire a piece to compliment the group but to move a Love or Kyrie (not that his name has been mentioned) is probably going to take too much time to gel. Acquire a piece and roll with what they've got.

Was surprised to see one of these analysts (think it was Greg Anthony) predictions for the second half. He had the Warriors breaking Chicago's single season win total yet losing to the Cavs in the Finals.
Greg Anthony is literally the worst analyst in sports.

But, I'm my shocked by someone making that prediction.

I just posted it because, with the way the GSW's are playing, I'm surprised anyone would predict anyone but them to win it. Never know though, playoff basketball is a little different animal than the regular season.

Not the way I am feeling...

but I think a lot of people are thinking they are going to shoot their wad going for the record and not have any gas left.

I've been hearing a lot of this train of thought. They are showing no signs of slowing down but, as a Cavs fan, I hope you (and they) are right.

It is kind of hard to believe that the Cavs were more than competitive with a vastly depleted roster last year than they seem to be against them this year at full strength.

Well, they don't lose at home, so that's 17 more wins.

Road games...@POR, @LAC, @ATL, @MIA, @ORL, @OKC, @LAL, @DAL, @SAS, @MIN, @UTA, @MEM, @SAS

At 48-4, they need to do 24-6 to tie the record and 25-5 to break it. Normally I'd agree, but I think they can literally sleep walk through half the schedule and still be on the verge. That might mean maybe 3-5 games they really have to take it to playoff gear to win. You also have the games with the Spurs late too, which could easily mean the Spurs are resting guys knowing they won't catch the GSW and should have the 2 seed already locked. Their road schedule really isn't that tough at all minus the LAC, OKC and San Antonio games.

They are tough to beat; wouldn't surprise me at all to see them beat or tie the record.

They might rest games towards the end but the Spurs are pretty close to them so they will have to keep at full strength deep in the season to make sure they get home court so they can rest.

I'm going to go ahead and say they don't break it. They'll get 70 wins though.

As long as Steph is healthy and playing, I like their chances at 75 wins. They can replace Barnes, Iguodala and Green on an individual basis with their bench. There's no way that Spurs team they play to end the year will be playing anyone unless there is a direct seeding or playoff impact to the game.

I would definitely take the under on 75.

has anyone been on ESPN's trade machine and got a deal that makes sense both financially and that both teams would be interested to make? So far I've been able to trade Love to the Celtics, David Lee to the Kings, and McLemore and Koufos to the Cavs.

Haven't played around with it, but why would the Cavs do that deal?

Unless the Cavs are dealing Love, they are basically going to need a team who really loves Shumpert or Thompson and needs to dump a bad contract of a player who the Cavs actually want.

sort of the point of my question. everything that i'd be interested in the Cavs doing won't work for any number of reasons (all of them cap related).

I'd have no issue if they could somehow get McLemore or Korver, for cheap, but not for that deal (and I know j crazy explained the deals aren't working, cap-wise, with the trade machine).

The reality is Love won't be traded until after the season because I don't think Griffin is ready to write him off yet. If we fail to win it all this year, Love is on the trading block and will get some interest since his contract becomes "cheaper" as the cap increases.

I still think Mozgov is shipped off only because of his contract situation and we get a marginal piece in return.

Pistons are now the favorites to win the title after getting Tobias Harris from Orlando for Brandon Jennings and Ilyasova.

Nah, classy would say that they were already the favorites but this just makes them even more.

Nah but it is exciting. Drummond-Jackson-Harris is a hell of a young core

I love that trade for the Magic. Harris though is a wannabe star who is having a terrible year. And wants a max deal...

I'd have to assume they'd be giving up Moz and/or shump. Don't see them moving Love for Anderson.

I would be furious if we gave up shump for a few month rental of Anderson. He sucks. Shooting sub 30% from 3 in Feb. and under 40% FG% for a big. That's pathetic. And he is a horrendous defender. Think Love sucks on def? lol just watch this matador.

Definitely agree. I think we need a legit back-up up PF, but If we're moving Moz for them, then he will need to be able to play some small ball 5, and Anderson has shown little to no interior presence in his career.
