Kaun rated as the 9th best player in all of the Euroleagues this year in PIR (Performance Index Rating) which is similar to NBA's Efficiency rating, I guess?Midstate01;1737260 wrote:S&L said what I sorta remembered about him, which is why it was so weird earlier this season when I started hearing his name a lot when talking about next impact players to come over from Europe. Wonder if something has changed with him maybe? I doubt it.

My guess is that he received a lot better big man coaching overseas than he did in college. Don't know where that leaves his value now, but I have to imagine it's higher than it was when he came out of college.

I should have rephrased. I meant to say more focused coaching overseas. College big men aren't afforded the same developmental energy as professional teams, especially a powerhouse like CSKASportsAndLady;1737278 wrote:Doesn't get much better than Danny manning haha

It's crazy the draft is tonight. It was nice for once not to think about the draft halfway thru the season.

True, and at the same time, Big men almost always take longer to be ready.lhslep134;1737280 wrote:I should have rephrased. I meant to say more focused coaching overseas. College big men aren't afforded the same developmental energy as professional teams, especially a powerhouse like CSKA

At the same time...where the hell did this Kaun development come from? Not the development of him as a player, the development of him as an asset that other teams want. I hadn't heard anything until it came out a couple days ago. It sounds like he's basically a free asset for us, so no complaints.HighRoller74;1737285 wrote:True, and at the same time, Big men almost always take longer to be ready.

Cavs finally on the clock.
Hazell, Tyus Jones, RJ Hunter still on the clock. Or they could stash a foreign guy.

Draft Tyus and then send him to Minny for 31 and 36.

Seems like Tyus Jones would be a great pick.HighRoller74;1737343 wrote:Cavs finally on the clock.

Tyus was the pick, but trading him to Minny for 31-36.

What's the point in getting the 31st & 36th picks?

1st round picks are guaranteed a contract. Nothing is guaranteed for 2nd round picks.se-alum;1737352 wrote:What's the point in getting the 31st & 36th picks?

Wouldn't be surprised to see the Cavs make a couple more trades tonight.
