I've been told reports of extension for Tristan Thompson inaccurate. No deal struck, nor do #Cavs seem interested in reported 3/$53 million

I was just about to post this. Broussard was just on ESPN talking about the deal. If he whiffed on this, he is a fucking clown and should be fired by now. Was he the same guy who reported the initial signing too?HighRoller74;1752954 wrote:[INDENT]User Actions

I think so. He's been so wrong, on so much recently, I don't see how anyone can take him seriously if he botches this.

Reports of Tristan signing at three years for $53M are premature, sources emphatically insist
Yeah, just fire broussard now.

Story is that Thompson has lowered his demand from 5 yr/$94 max to 3 years/$53 million
What a fucking moron.

Broussard just retracted saying TT is willing to accept that amount.

I love how Broussard reports this as that is what he meant to say from he beginning. He was on ESPN for abotu 5 minutes talking about how it was a done deal. Fuck him.HighRoller74;1752959 wrote:Broussard just retracted saying TT is willing to accept that amount.
Also, if TT is actually willing to take that amount (doubt it since broussard is reporting), that just means all those reports about him going to toronto after this season was a bunch of bullshit.

Regardless of the length of the deal, am I the only one going "fuck that" to paying a one dimensional player almost $18m/yr?like_that;1752962 wrote:I love how Broussard reports this as that is what he meant to say from he beginning. has anyone done the math on that reported deal TT is "willing to accept?"
3/53 = 17.6667 per year
4/80 = 20 million per year
Why the fuck would he be willing to do 3/53, but not 4/80? hell if he wants to think of it that way then he could just say he signed a 3/53 deal, then put a 1/27 deal on the end of it. I'm not buying any of this bullshit.

Guess when you're a fan and aren't writing the checks you can have that mindset but the dude's not close to worth that amount.Commander of Awesome;1753001 wrote:yes

80M guaranteed over 5 isn't much worse than 53M guaranteed over 3. After taxes and everything else, it's not a big difference and it's much more long-term security.

I get it, but it's still insane to pay him that much.

Good riddance Tristan. Don't believe for a minute that LBJ would be pissed if the Cavs say goodbye to this guy.

Lebron is a huge fan of Tristan's. Unless of course we shouldn't listen to facts and instead should listen to you.

Great article about the Cavs frontcourt and jumps into the argument of who is better for the Cavs, Thompson or Mozgov. Thompson is still in contract limbo and Mozgov is a Free Agent after the season. Do they let him walk?

I get it. Just think it's insane to pay an ok "role player" that much. Just like Joe Flacco balled out to get that fat contract, a small sample size (playoffs) for Tristan are going to help him cash in.Automatik;1753092 wrote:Or you're willing to support whatever it takes to keep LeBron satisfied.

TT isn't worth what the Cavs originally offered much less more than that. The reality is, TT is going to be overpaid if the Cavs are going to keep him simply because he's been endorsed by a year to year contract Lebron.

LBJ might be a huge fan of TT, but he's also not an idiot. He knows what Tristan's worth and it ain't 17 mil a year. LBJ is also probably a little pissed that TT is using him as leverage.SportsAndLady;1753134 wrote:Based off what?
