I was thinking same thing, not overly concerned as neither will play but agree.

Well glad the deal is done. He's overpaid but he's a young talent who stays healthy and is a value added player. Does he start? My guess is no. That's a lot of money for a bench player.

Nope. He lost the fight and decided to take the cavs offer. Good for the FO for holding strong.Commander of Awesome;1758368 wrote:He held out this long for $400k a yr? LOL

Hard to tell honestly. I would say its an overall win for TT as he got the Cavs to offer an additional $2M as well as not add a team option at the end. Plus, TT is getting paid substantially more than his value in a market in which there were no other bidders. From a financial and value standpoint, the Cavs were fleeced hard in this deal. From a basketball standpoint, I think this is a win for the Cavs. TT is a good player and plays his role for well for what the Cavs need.SportsAndLady;1758380 wrote:Nope. That's still a lot of money especially when you factor in the fully guaranteed deal with no option after 4 years.Commander of Awesome;1758368 wrote:He held out this long for $400k a yr? LOL

i believe COA is referring to fact that original cav offer was 5/80, now it is 5/82SportsAndLady;1758380 wrote:Nope. He lost the fight and decided to take the cavs offer. Good for the FO for holding strong.

Now that everyone is signed it is time to win championships with that payroll...anything less is a failure at this point

Tristan will be the highest paid per minute player in the history of basketball. If Andy stays healthy, TT will be lucky to see the floor 20 minutes per game. No way will TT and Andy be on the floor at the same time.
Gilbert, you make Steinbrenner look like Scrooge.

If nothing else, it will be entertaining watching you struggle to calculate the pay per minute.Footwedge;1758398 wrote:Tristan will be the highest paid per minute player in the history of basketball. It's ALL on Lebron now. Gilbert didn't put the "pieces" around him he needed in his last stint. Now, there are no excuses. Gilbert has assembled the highest paid roster in league history.
As FW said, "Steinbrenner." If they don't win a ring, Gilbert & the team will be a laughingstock around the league and we'll continue to hear the "poor Cleveland" bullshit.

I don't see how anyone could bitch or focus on the negative of Gilbert actually spending money. Most of us here are Indians fans and we bitch about our cheap ass owner all the time. Now, we finally have an owner spending all the money he can to bring us a title and you guys still want to bitch? What a joke.

Exactly what i was going to post. I am a Bengals fan and can't stand how cheap Mike Brown has been over the years.like_that;1758410 wrote:I don't see how anyone could bitch or focus on the negative of Gilbert actually spending money. Nobody is "bitching" about Gilbert spending. He's gone above & beyond to please Lebron. It's unprecedented what Gilbert is doing. If they don't win a championship, it's on Lebron, not Gilbert. DG has given Lebron everything he could ask for, within their financial constraints.like_that;1758410 wrote:I don't see how anyone could bitch or focus on the negative of Gilbert actually spending money. The vitriol will be focused on Lebron if they don't win this. We can still see periodic bitching, on this site, about the Wiggins/Love trade. If they don't win a ring, that will probably resurface among some.

Br, I don't understand your, "it's all lbj now, no excuses!" Soapbox. Dude was a fucking beast last post season, did everything and then some. He was being talked about as finals MVP on the losing team for Christ sakes. You're acting like he didn't try last season or something.

It actually won't even be close. Gilbert Arenas made almost 21M in 2012-13 and never played a minute.Footwedge;1758398 wrote:Tristan will be the highest paid per minute player in the history of basketball. Completely misinterpreted, as usual. Who said LBJ didn't "try?" He was a friggin' beast in the playoffs and played at an unworldly level.Commander of Awesome;1758424 wrote:Br, I don't understand your, "it's all lbj now, no excuses!" Soapbox. It's on "him" because HE'S the driving force behind these acquisitions. Gilbert opened up the pocketbook, BIG TIME, and catered to his every whim. Got him big men, got him defenders, etc, etc to a tune (financially) that's never been seen.
If this is a miserable failure, and they don't win a ring, while these guys are in their prime, Lebron's going to shoulder much of the blame (not Gilbert). Lebron's the one who wanted "pieces" to bring a championship to Cleveland. I don't have an issue if they are financially "strapped" if they win the trophy. If they don't, it was all a waste. With Gilbert going "balls deep", I'm not down with "competitive." Win the whole damn thing!
On paper, this is the best roster in the NBA. Now that have to prove it.

I'm actually putting this all on Kyrie, TT, Love, and Mo. LBJ has proven he can do what it takes to win a championship. Gilbert has put them on the team with the best player in NBA history, and paid them all to perform. LBJ did his part. Time for the others to step the fuck up.

Yeah, at the end of the day the supporting cast has to perform. LeBron can't make their shots go in. If they don't win it, it's on the entire organization. You can pencil them into the finals right now.Commander of Awesome;1758428 wrote:I'm actually putting this all on Kyrie, TT, Love, and Mo.
