This up there with footwedge retardedness. Didn't magic and Larry do commercials together? Are you honestly believing that "back in your day" nba players didn't hang out with their buddies just because your old ass didn't have Twitter and social media? You are loony, BR. Absolutely looney.

The Bird/Magic special (not sure if it was a 30 on 30 or not) is a good and telling watch.

Magic wanted Bird to like him and Bird couldn't fucking stand anyone on an opposing team...and especially Magic. That commercial was the beginning of tolerance as Larry insisted it be on his grounds and Magic had to go to his farm in Indiana....Magic's charm won over Bird's mother.

Bird respected Magic more than anyone but he hated him and every opponent, especially on the floor.

Side note....Bad Boy teammate Isaiah Thomas and Magic used to kiss each other on the neck/cheek before games.

Jordan hated Isaiah so much that he had him kept off of
the Dream Team. You didn't see players joking around after a loss back then and hugging players from the other team right after they beat you.

You don't see that today either. Did you watch the Cavs Celtics game last week? The teams don't like each other. But I guess since LBJ and Wade are boys they're soft?

BR, I didn't realize you have forgotten more basketball than I've watched. You know lotz about sportz. If BR says players today are wimps, he's right guises. He obviously watches lotz of games. Doesn't matter than the biggest guy back in the day weighed 240 lbs and didn't look like they knew what a weight was. They were tougher! No way LBJ could even try and play in 80s, NBA was just too tough. I agree, Seth Curry should be told that under the hoop ain't open. If he tried that shit in the 80s, Bol would have told him that lane ain't open.

Oh, wait:

Just for lol sakes, this is a game from 1994. Look at how skinny these guys are. LBJ would reck these dudes charging in the lane.

Yeah, NBA is soft today tho, bc BR said so despite evidence to the contrary.

I didn't see the end of the Cavs/Celtics game, so I will take your word for it in that case. More often than not you see players hugging and joking with guys on the other team right after basketball and football games. It looks more like friends after a pickup game than true rivals.

I don't care if they shake hands, before or after. Hugs, talking.. who cares. As long as they hate each other for the 48 minutes on the floor, I don't see the big deal.

The only time I have anything resembling an issue with friendliness is when it's right after an actual big game. I remember one time, I think it was when Kurt Warner led Arizona to the Super Bowl, in the NFC Championship game, they beat Philly. The main thing that stuck out in my mind was one of Philly's defensive backs (Dawkins, maybe?) immediately going over to Warner with this huge-ass smile on his face to congratulate him. He looked like he just won the Super Bowl and got MVP; not like a guy who just lost while one step away from the finals. Struck me as weird as fuck to be that openly happy for your opponent immediately after losing at that stage.

On another side...I don't think anyone has to hate anyone to play their best. To me it's more of a pride within yourself and team not to lose or be outperformed by the opponent.

Magic
LeBron
Jeter
Gwynn
Montana

Just to name a few that achieved quite well without hating the opponent or being an ass during the game.

Damned if you do; damned if you don't. I remember people blasted Lebron, because he didn't shake hands with the Orlando Magic when they were eliminated in the 2009 ECF.

I was happy to see the Wine & Gold turnout tonight in Phoenix. Most of my upper deck section seemed to be Cavs fans, at least the portion that was cheering.

I was surprised the buckeyes weren't in attendance tonight.

Cavs played poorly in the 2nd half, and I hated Blatt's rotations in the 2nd half, but I'll give them a couple weeks to figure things out.

Lbj looked like he was in chill mode and this team loves to throw him the ball and watch.

"Seth" Curry? WTF? I wish I could attribute that to being drunk but I don't drink. Major fail on my part for that one.
