Chiz needs to go. Too many chances and he just hasn't done it. He never made adjustments at the plate. Can't be unwilling to take a walk and be successful in the MLB.

The left side of the infield is officially gone. Management couldn't stomach it any longer. Chisenhall's 3 errors today was the final straw for him. Walters and Giu are not the greatest defensive players but they have to get something out of the bottom of the order.

First trip to the yard of the season yesterday.

Really impressed with new renovations.

-The bullpens are really cool. You can almost reach out and touch the visiting teams' relievers (not recommend unless you want to take a taser from the security guard) from the concourse railing.
-The Corner Bar is awesome. A nice spot to find some shade for an inning on a hot day and grab a large craft beer ($12. 24 oz). The area on top of the bar is cool as well. You can still find $4 12 oz cans of Miller Lite a plenty.
-All of the standing room areas are nice. You can perch on the 2nd level of the The Corner and look basically right down the right field line but there are a ton of other places to stand, with places to set drinks, lean...and so on.
-Great new food options in the District for those not interested in the traditional stadium fare. There was pretty much always a little line for Barrio and Sweet Moses Ice Cream but otherwise you could pretty much walk up and order.
-The Verizon Wifi in the stadium was blistering fast.


As for the game...a sloppy and disinterested game from the Tribe. Crowd didn't have much to get excited about. Lonnie the Butcher needs to get his head on straight. Hopefully this will be a wake up call for him. He has always been bad in the field but his ineptitude has reached new heights and he hasn't hit since that game in KC last year.

3 with the Mariners starting on Tuesday. Felix pitched Saturday so with the off-day, he isn't scheduled to pitch until Friday but if they wanted to skip somebody, he could pitch on Thursday on his normal rest.

Losing 2 out of 3 to the lowly Orioles at home was more than they could take, I'm sure.

A slow start is one thing, but those guys just kept regressing. Watching Chisenhall the past week, it was obvious he was lost. I have a feeling that he'll be back, but not so sure about Ramirez. i could see him getting traded for a middle reliever

Lindor is on fire the last 14 days. Won IL POTW this past week.

His overall #s arent great, but are nowhere near bad enough to keep him down. Im reading its because of nagging injuries they want to be 100% and that he wont make it to July in AAA.

Tribe took Brady Aiken in the draft tonight at pick 17. He was the 1st overall pick last year and went unsigned, but just had Tommy John surgery 2 months ago and his health apparently was scaring alot of teams.

Big time risk reward pick and kind of flys in the face of the kind of guys the Tribe seem to gravitate towards as his agents were a nightmare to deal with last year and he has already blown his arm out at like 19 years old.

I am just a little leary because we had some of the big market teams in front of us all takes passes on him that were linked to him before the draft. I just wonder what was scaring everyone else off to make him fall to 17? It had to be more than just the Tommy John, because teams deal with that on a regular basis anymore.

Just seems a bit too good to be true kind of a deal.

I'm not sure what your point is here, but his recent hot streak has raised his BA to .271.....before that....ehhhhhh. Plus we have the nagging injuries, plus he's made 8 errors already, plus if they bring him up early they lose an arbitration year.
I don't think bringing him up now is going to make a big difference in the varsity's performance. I'm not going to cry either if when they do bring him up. (which is only a matter of time). I'm looking forward to seeing him play.

I don't think that it is "too good to be true"...The kid had Tommy John, and although it's become routine nowadays, that kind of an arm problem is a risk that some teams would rather not spend a #1 pick and the $$$ associated with it on a guy they don't have to. At #17 somebody did.....at #5 e.g. maybe not so much.

Not only were the Astros worried that Aiken would need Tommy John surgery, but they were concerned that after he had it, he might not fully recover because of the structure of his elbow.

Hoynes talked about the issue with his elbow in an article he put up. Makes it sound like more of a crap shoot (potential structural problems) than just him having had Tommy John, which makes a little more sense now. If it was just the Tommy John he probably wouldn't have made it to 17, because teams deal with that all the time now.

^^^Jimmy Donovan reported also that the Astros wanted him to sign, but lowballed him, which is why he didn't sign....could have been a negotiating ploy also.

My point is, why do we still care what guys do at AAA. What was Evan Longoria hitting when he was brought up? Manny Machado? Did Joey Gallo ever even make it to AAA?? Did Machado?? TONS more examples of this...

These guys are good. Frankly, I think they get bored at AAA. Maybe even a little bit annoyed. Their focus is clearly not there, as they dont give a fuck. Lindor has shown he has what it takes, and frankly shouldve made the team out of ST (I get it...$$$). Not making the squad was probably annoying as hell for him. I dont care what he has done at AAA, I care what he did when he was competing for a spot on the team, and working his way through the minors. He has been a beast in those situations. I dont care anymore. He needs to be promoted.

As for the Arbitration...are we really worried he will hit arbitration a year early? I mean, the time has likely passed anyway, so its safe, but even so, its a few millions. It isnt like its a year of owning his rights (like it was for Khris Davis). It s ayear of arbitration vs rookie deal. We have his rights for the same amount of YEARS regardless...just a matter of how much we will owe him.

^^^I don't necessarily disagree with you, I just don't have enough information or knowledge of the situation to make the call. Guys get paid big bucks to figure this stuff out...they get reports from people close to the situation and weigh all the factors. There is enough stuff there that I can see their point.

I know we don't have all the info. I just get tired of hearing the "he is only hitting .250" posts (not directed at you). It's a tiresome argument that doesn't hold weight.

The money and lingering/nagging injuries makes for a more compelling reason I can get behind.

I'm just glad they are sending Jose and Lonnie down!

Oh it was part of it I am sure, they were right though that he would need Tommy John though, so it wasn't totally baseless.

His agents were being unreasonable as well as they didn't like the initial $8.5 million dollar offer even though there is a slotting system for salaries now. Strikes me as the type of guy who if he pans out will be out of here 4 years (2 years before free agency when at his peak value for trade) after he's called up because his agents have the Boras mentality and there won't be any home town discounts like we have seen from many of the Tribe guys recently.

I hope it works out because I hate the idea of a wasted pick in the 1st round.

Lindor' clause in his contract is for I believe July 12th. So right after the all star break im sure we will see Lindor in the big leagues
