Carolina (Paige) misses wide open threes, Duke makes contested ones. Same story as usual.

Carolina out rebounding Duke 30-10, and also has a 26-8 advantage in points in the paint. The three ball is Duke's equalizer. It's just crazy.

I always love the "Duke's getting killed on the boards and only down eight at the half" argument, as if that's something to be happy about. It also means they're still on pace to lose by 16. Lol. So that argument is meaningless, unless Brice Johnson got shorter at halftime.

Which is exactly what is happening, just as it always does against Carolina. Until Roy decides to force Duke to shoot contested twos, rather than wide open threes, it's gonna be the same result. It was a respectable showing for Duke. They only needed 13 threes to lose by four.
It's no secret that Duke's offense orbits around the three-point line. They are not going to be mistaken for '85 Georgetown. But the lack of effort tonight on the defensive boards was just embarrassing. Someone please give Marshall Plumlee a stepladder so that he can grab a damn rebound. Or remind him that he is the same height as Hakeem Olajuwon.
