Duke was the far better team against MSU. Hopefully Wisconsin can make it a good game against Kentucky.
Was hoping for two B10 teams in the finals but knew it was far-fetched.

Well, to be fair a bad loss and "choking" are different, IMO.SportsAndLady;1718665 wrote:Everyone expects Kentucky to beat Wisconsin handily.
But according to mulva's logic, if Kentucky loses its not a bad loss for them because it is even seeding.

Everyone except Vegas, apparently. Wichita was a 2.5 point favorite in that game. It wasn't a gigantic upset, similarly to how Wisconsin as a 5 point underdog tonight wouldn't be a "gigantic" upset.SportsAndLady;1718661 wrote:It's not a tough concept it's a flawed concept.
Two years ago Wichita was the 1 seed and everyone knew Kentucky would beat them. Was that a gigantic upset?

Koenig got away with that. Wisconsin is 2/4 on open 3s. That will continue, as long as they get looks like this. Kentucky needs to do a better job. Wisconsin should just do that matchup they did early. When they get away from it, UK gets open 3s. Harrison and Ullis both have hit.

Yeah, 33-0 but it wouldn't be a gigantic upset.Mulva;1718671 wrote:Everyone except Vegas, apparently. Wichita was a 2.5 point favorite in that game. It wasn't a gigantic upset, similarly to how Wisconsin as a 5 point underdog tonight wouldn't be a "gigantic" upset.

Wisconsin is a better basketball team, Kentucky has slightly better athletes though so this is interesting.

I think we can all agree that Tom Izzo is not Adolph Rupp. Let's leave it at that.
Regardless of seeding, I agree with S&L and Laley that Izzo's record at the Final Four is most unimpressive. As I said earlier in this debate, winning a regional final and winning on Monday night at the Final Four are two entirely different animals. Izzo is a great coach. He is not, however, that great on the game's biggest stage.
He's the Marv Levy of college basketball coaches, which isn't that bad a thing.

If Sam Dekker is going to make everything he throws up Wisconsin isn't going to lose.

Wisconsin plays the game at such a slow pace, that it is hard to watch.

A lot of people expected Kentucky to beat Wichita. That "upset" was barely that.
Wisconsin beating Kentucky this year would be a monumental upset. Yet they are both 1 seeds.
My point is it's about winning championships, not just final fours, and Izzo struggles going from final four to championship.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Wisconsin won. I know a lot of people who took them ML in Vegas actually.

Wisconsin was one of the best offensive teams in the entire country this season. They were 12th in points scored per game out of 345 teams.
