What was the report on Trimble? I just flipped back, was his mom down there on the bench?

It's great to see Bobby back in the regionals. Love Huggins.

He got knocked on the head pretty hard. Probably didn't pass concussion tests.

His mom was probably down there telling the trainers to put her baby back in the game. Lol

Looks dire for Maryland.....Melo is so needed. Nothing about this game says Maryland will come back

lol. This is comical now.

WV will give UK a MUCH tougher game than Maryland though. MD wouldve been blown out. So at least there is that.

Is Huggy Bear one of the most underrated coaches in the game? Historically and currently?

We sat next to Jerry Sloan the other day at the games and he was there looking at Trimble and Alec Peters. Said those were the only 2 sure pros in the early games. He thought there was a decent chance Trimble would come out, but who knows. Not shocked on Dez Wells, he's got no position in the NBA either.

The fact that Cincy was arguably a top five program for a stretch of about five or six years starting in the late '90s says all you need to know about the coaching ability of Bobby Huggins. If Kenyon Martin doesn't go down in the C-USA tournament in '99, the Bearcats win the national championship. That Cincinnati team with Martin, Kenny Satterfield, DerMarr Johnson, Pete Mickael and Steve Logan was an absolute powerhouse.

He was also set to bring in Bill Walker and O.J. Mayo in 2005 just before he was released from the program. His best years were still ahead of him there. It's a shame, really.

This topic has been visited numerous times here over the years, but, relative to the adulation he so often receives, one would think Tom Izzo coached UCLA in the '60s.
I don't argue with that. He's a very good coach in this region who, due to a combination of a long career, a championship and consistent success (MSU being third in the nation in consecutive tournament appearances does get a bit of a "coaching Jebus" reputation from the media.

Taking the softball out of the park is more in response to you doing the "I don't like his style and he probably is a bit overrated, so I'll act like he's the mediocre coach who does well one month of the year and PEOPLE FALL FOR THIS CRAP!!!!!" over-the-top reaction. Which is virtually identical to a person hyping up all of K's early-round March failures as the purest indictment of him, while ignoring the championships and long runs.

He is the type of coach that if he does win a NC then he gets vaulted way up there. His UC teams were tough. If I remember right the committee made them a 2 seed after Martin broke his ankle/leg and that got talked about quite a bit.

That was the first time I saw WVA play in a long time. I think they can give UK all they can handle. Would have been better if it was the second game of the weekend go give UK less time to prepare for the press. Teams just dont do it much anymore

In my newspaper bracket for $300 I can win if Wisconsin makes the finals, Oklahoma makes Final 4 and either Utah, UCLA or Oklahoma beat Wisconsin in the finals.

So you're saying there's a chance!
