Old Andy Reid looks like he really screwed himself in Philly. He pulled a "Savage/DA" situation. He had many suitors for McNabb early on but was asking WAY too much, those suitors went in other directions and now I'm hearing nobody wants to give up more than a 3rd for Donovan plus he has a pissed off QB not "feeling the love" who will only play for "certain teams."

Oh yeah, this +1. Andy just couldn't shit and/or get off the pot, now Donovan will be pissed, I don't blame him one bit. He has to see the writing on the wall that he's not the guy in Philly and Reid basically held him hostage, screwing him in the process. I wonder how Philly fans feel about this situation?BR1986FB wrote: Old Andy Reid looks like he really screwed himself in Philly. He pulled a "Savage/DA" situation. About 90% of them want him (McNabb) gone. Shit, if McNabb played for the Browns and gave us those kind of years he'd have "Bernie-like" status. Friggin' ingrates.ytownfootball wrote:Oh yeah, this +1. McNabb could be traded for more if the Eagles wait. what if Favre retires? Minne would be a perfect fit and Minne would have to give up more than a third if its going into summer. With the injuries at this position..I would wait if I were Reid.

Those were my thoughts early on in this process but from what I've heard, Delhomme is considered a "leader" and McNabb is not.Thunder70 wrote: Id take McNabb in a heartbeat...

To me a healthy delhomme would be nice but we have no real idea if he's ever gonna be the same QB is was. If i had to choose, i'd still take mcnabb...

Lol...Philly fans are rough, he's certainly earned the right to leave on his terms I think. Dangling his ass from a stick can't sit well with him, now he'll have to stay with a team whose fans even hate Santa Clause.BR1986FB wrote:

Not a huge fan on the Delhomme move but it makes since. I just hope this doesn't bite us in the ass when our future QB to be named later isn't worth a squat and we are back at square one. I really have faith in Holgrem but I also had faith in Savage and look how that panned out.

Me too but if Delhomme can consistently hit passes in that 0-20 yard range he'll be an upgrade over the previous stiffs.Thunder70 wrote: To me a healthy delhomme would be nice but we have no real idea if he's ever gonna be the same QB is was. If i had to choose, i'd still take mcnabb...

They (Philly fans) hate him. He should have been our QB in 99 instead of Tim Ouch.ytownfootball wrote:Lol...Philly fans are rough, he's certainly earned the right to leave on his terms I think. Every time I hear McNabb, this is exactly what I think. I was NEVER sold on Couch. I was 15 and was complaining about how he was a shotgun QB and he'd never make it. I actually wanted Peter Warrick but I guess my pick wasn't much better. LOLBR1986FB wrote:They (Philly fans) hate him. Believe me, when Couch was selected I let out in my best "who the hell is Chaun Thompson voice"...."who?" I knew McNabb and I knew his game. I did NOT want Couch or Akili Smith but of course we HAVE to take "the Golden Boy" because Policy & Clark were worthless pieces of shit on a dogs ass (my apology to dogs).Keebler wrote:Every time I hear McNabb, this is exactly what I think. I can't believe I actually owned a Couch jersey but there wasn't much selection in youth sizes in 1999.BR1986FB wrote:Believe me, when Couch was selected I let out in my best "who the hell is Chaun Thompson voice"...."who?" Look on the bright side, you can put tape over "Edwards" on your #17 jersey and Magic Marker in "Delhomme."Keebler wrote:I can't believe I actually owned a Couch jersey but there wasn't much selection in youth sizes in 1999.BR1986FB wrote:Believe me, when Couch was selected I let out in my best "who the hell is Chaun Thompson voice"...."who?" I still remember the "Big Debate" over Couch vs. Akili Smith...McNabb wasn't even on their radar....I was so pissed.

Nice! I did buy 2 Authentic jerseys off eBay a few years ago for cheap.... Edwards and Winslow. Maybe I should quit buying jerseys.

I guess I was in the minority of liking the Couch pick. lol...I still think he could have been an above average QB if he wasn't thrown into the mess he was. He had no OL, not much to throw to, and no running game. He was destined to fail. BTW I still have my Couch jersey.

I was pleased as punch they chose Couch over Smith...and I agree...he was a damn tackling dummy his whole career.royal_k wrote: I guess I was in the minority of liking the Couch pick. lol...I still think he could have been an above average QB if he wasn't thrown into the mess he was. Its amazing to see how the futures of two teams/players would be so dramatically different if mcnabb was taken by the browns in stead of philly..

Had the Browns taken McNabb, he probably would have failed as well.Thunder70 wrote: Its amazing to see how the futures of two teams/players would be so dramatically different if mcnabb was taken by the browns in stead of philly..
If Couch would have been selected by Philly, he may have had a very good career.

that's really what i meant...sorry for the confusion...
i didn't think couch was bad. the opposing defenses just had a clear path to kill him time and time again...

Yeah, kinda pisses you off when the franchise has 24 picks it's first two years back, selects a "franchise" QB with the #1 overall pick, and then doesn't select an O-Lineman to protect said "franchise QB" until the 6th round of the 2000 draft. Real bright Clark & Policy, real bright.Thunder70 wrote: that's really what i meant...sorry for the confusion...
