2 of the 3 non-Patriots always seem to be 7-7 with a wildcard shot over the final two games

It's been 6 years since any of them made the playoffs.

5 years but both statements are correct, generally the teams choke a spot away in the final week

Yeah....I used "seem" as I didn't look it up. Was still right and still corrected.

Jets made the playoffs in 2010. My bad. I misread the site I looked at.
The point remains, every division in football has had multiple playoff teams since an AFC East team that wasn't the Patriots went.

The AFC east has the best team in football and as a division are 17-10 which is likely first or 2nd best

Outside of the Patriots, the division is garbage.

If the AFC East is garbage, then so is the AFC West, AFC North and AFC South.

Agreed on the south, but even they have had multiple teams reach the playoffs this decade.

The West?

2-5 Chiefs
2-5 Chargers
3-3 Raiders
6-0, yet least impressive, Broncos?

The East is clearly better than that division...even if you go team by team in the standings.

Outside of the division, the teams are a combined 12-5. that's tied for the best record out of any division.

AFC East - 12-5
AFC North - 10-11
AFC South - 4-15
AFC West - 8-10
NFC East - 6-9
NFC North - 10-8
NFC South - 12-5
NFC West - 9-10

Hell Miami looks like a trainwreck but they're 3-1 outside of the division.

And who have they beat? Outside of New England's win over the Steelers, every win by an AFC East team has come against the Redskins, Browns or the pathetic AFC South.

These are the records of each division minus their best team....in parenthesis is the +/- on points scored/allowed. One way they are 1 game behind the best division and ahead of the other 6 and going by point differential they are tops by over 50 points

There you go....the AFC South is the division you were describing all along.

Jim Caldwell should probably start walking back from London because he is not going to have a job to come to in Detroit after today I don't think.

LeVeon Bell could be done this season. Such an incredible weapon. Keep getting hurt against Bengals (not dirty)

Brees and Eli are both having decent games.
