While it may be sad, I don't think anyone expected that to end any other way.

I don't even know how sad I'd say it was. Dude lived his life as an all-out POS and died like one, despite having many chances through his athletic ability to turn things around. I'd look at him as more of a precautionary tale for any young athletes who think they're bulletproof due to their celebrity than anything else.

Strange to read that their choice was between him and Shanahan.HighRoller74;1775633 wrote:Chip Kelly to the 49ers

Listened to a clip of Tim Brown talking about his rookie yr as a LA Raider. Said the stadium held 110k and on opening day in 1988, they had 38k in attendance. SMH at LA getting a team.

I'm sure they will get an initial draw because football is back in SoCal, but if they aren't a SB contender every year good luck getting people to come. I wonder if he plans on completely rebranding the team with a new name and colors. That would probably help too.Sonofanump;1775926 wrote:Bo ain't walking thru that door, Kroenke might be lucky to get that 38K a game.

Saw it reported on SI that Chris Mortensen (ESPN NFL Insider) has stage 4 throat cancer he just found out. Been at ESPN for 25 years.
Schefter is the guy now, but I remember as a kid when Mort was the one who seemed to always be dialed in on what was happening in the league.

Speaking of cancers, your dad has been quiet since Johnny fell off the wagon. Hope all is well.IggyPride00;1775928 wrote:Saw it reported on SI that Chris Mortensen (ESPN NFL Insider) has stage 4 throat cancer he just found out. Been at ESPN for 25 years.

Awful news. One of the few guys on ESPN that isn't obnoxious.IggyPride00;1775928 wrote:Saw it reported on SI that Chris Mortensen (ESPN NFL Insider) has stage 4 throat cancer he just found out. Been at ESPN for 25 years.

Been wondering the same thing. Don't think he's posted since after Manziel ran all over the place in that Chiefs game. Figured he'd be on here to at least gloat about that. Hope nothing bad happened, unless he's just an alter who decided to go on hiatus for a while....kind of like thavoice/Monty.Al Bundy;1775942 wrote:Speaking of cancers, your dad has been quiet since Johnny fell off the wagon.
