Hardy all world, but the guy has won 10 games with 2 different teams in his career. Better than most of the other options out there.Cassell sucks ass
All they are looking for is a game manager, as they plan on pounding the ball and playing great defense.

They will bring in a vet to compete with him but I do think Geno will be the starter. I haven't completely given up hope on him and I think he could do well under Chan Gailey if the offense is closer to what he ran at WV. That said, he has about 8 games to prove he's taken the next step before I am done with him.Raw Dawgin' it;1711882 wrote:Especially when Geno Smith is still the QB.

Exactly. Plus it is front loaded and if they do draft a QB the big $$$ for said QB wont kick in until the second contract which would be after Revis is gone/cut/retired.justincredible;1711805 wrote:Tons of cap room and a dire need at CB. I certainly don't hate it.
With the newest CBA and rookie wage ceilings team can use that to their advantage...sign a big name FA, spend a ton of money, and not have to worry about that QB rookie deal

Saw that this morning. Went to see American Sniper last night and then lifted and didnt watch any tv. Half thought the steelers would resign him but damn. He had a big contract last season by being tagged but still.BR1986FB;1711970 wrote:Another young guy, Jason Worilds, retires....

I guess if you are smart with your money this is something that can easily be done.

Fitzmagic traded to the Jets for what will be a 6th or 7th round pick in 2016 depending on how much he plays for the Jets this year. Should be an upgrade over Geno.

To be honest, I could see a lot of players looking at it as smart to go this route, as long as they're good with their money and aren't pissing it away on everything under the sun. Get paid and then get out before you've done too much damage to your body or pounded your brain into mush via concussions. Exploit the system as best you can.BR1986FB;1711970 wrote:Another young guy, Jason Worilds, retires....

Surprised the steelers actually took a shot at Revis, although they had zero chance with their cap. Guess they though he may settle for less after playing for Pitt.

After Jordan Cameron's last concussion, I thought he should've done it but I guess he wants that one big payday.Heretic;1712012 wrote:To be honest, I could see a lot of players looking at it as smart to go this route, as long as they're good with their money and aren't pissing it away on everything under the sun. So the Eagles signed Ryan Matthews AND they're going to sign Demarco Murray? Looks like a little overkill at the RB position to me.

Well, when you're dealing with ButtFumble and Sam Porcelain as your two main QBs, it might be better to have two good backs to carry the ball a combined 45 times per game.BR1986FB;1712244 wrote:So the Eagles signed Ryan Matthews AND they're going to sign Demarco Murray? Murray signs with the Eagles 5 years 42 million with 21 million guaranteed. Will be interesting to see if Mathews actually signs his 3 year 11.5 million contract now.

Kinda surprised the Cowboys wouldn't give him at least that, but with their o-line, they can probably get very good production out of a lower paid back.Iliketurtles;1712353 wrote:Murray signs with the Eagles 5 years 42 million with 21 million guaranteed. 8.5 is a little too much I believe. I think the Cowboys offer of 5 or 6 million was a bad low ball offer. I think about 7 million a year and half of it guaranteed would have a good offer.se-alum;1712365 wrote:Kinda surprised the Cowboys wouldn't give him at least that, but with their o-line, they can probably get very good production out of a lower paid back.
Sadly the only way to get another back now will be in the draft unless Mathews doesn't sign with the Eagles or they somehow make a deal for AP. If Murray left was really hoping they could get Foresett but he resigned in Baltimore today.

Believe he is still with the eagles His contract for next year is guarenteed for 3.5 million of his 4. whatever million. Polk is their other RB and only about million and a half for the cap. If they cut Sproles they only save about half a million so decent chance Polk is gone

Jets sign Cromartie to a 4/32 deal that was the same one they cut him from a year ago.
Who says you can't use free agency to rebuild? They have a completely new secondary now with Revis/Cromartie and Skrine. Also got a #1 receiver for a pittance in Marshall.
Nice to see a GM stacking the deck with pieces for his rookie former defensive coordinator Head Coach so that he can really succeed at his job rather than hanging him out to dry insisting on using solely the draft as a means of acquiring impact players.
I am sure Bowles is appreciative.
