There were weeks that he couldn't practice with the Niners because of a previous/lingering shoulder injury from college. Sounds like he also had several other injuries. Can't say I blame the guy if he didn't want to walk around like a cripple in his late 20's and he had a backup financial plan.
Nothing more than other players. He's also more like 5'10, and having to keep that much mass on such a frame is work, a lot of work.

He would've been forced to do it.

But I agree, I probably would've waited until they asked for it back.

True.
Teams also had the ability to choose the 85% ticket sales option the last two seasons.

I think the blackout rule needed to be abolished. How many people who are actually buying the tickets to go are doing so because they feel if they dont then the game is going to be blacked out and they want to make sure they get to see it?

Pretty much. $$ from tickets and such is so small. NFL should be a bit concerned that the last few years teams had problems selling out for playoff games. Bengals 2 years ago had a tough time and a couple others did too. They are expensive. League sets the playoff prices, believe a certain % above the regular season price and that increases each round.
They send out the notices early to the season tix holders and they can pick the possible playoff games they want. Can get very, very pricey

I think blackouts are stupid. Ticket prices are a joke especially when you factor in parking, food, beer, etc. The experience at home is also just much better and cheaper. HD TV is hard to beat.

Agreed. Not unheard of for $50 parking. Easy to limit food/drink inside the stadium but I usually will get something as I only go to 2-3 games per year, but yeah ten dollar beers...suck.

Even though on tv is better to see it, as with most sports except for hockey, it still is a blast going to games

This. Plus it's nice to watch the other games on redzone. I'm not the most hard core Bengals fan at all, so there really is almost no appeal to go to a game anymore. I don't know a single person who's ever wanted to go to a game if it was going to be blacked out as well.

Playoff game vs San Diego shoulda been blacked out but someone bought the last few thousand tix. Hell, I am not even a bengals fan and I bought 3 and took some family members.

Its not like you had a Steelers game to go to that weekend. Also, Indianapolis and Green Bay went down to the wire selling out that friday before as well. Major snow storm came through that area if I recall.

True. Yeah, a few teams went down to the wire that weekend to sell out. GB was the biggest of surprises.
The major storm....Was funny sunday AM Cincy weather folks were saying rain by 9am, snow by 11, heavy snow as the game went on. At halftime the sun was out, and no snow, but on the way home, yeah it got brutal.

Playoff tix are a bitch, and I can see that first round not getting gobbled up real fast.

On the Dan Patrick Show him and Peter King were talking about the blackout rules being changed because of LA getting possibly two teams and since the stadium will not be built in time there's a good chance they'll have to play in the Rose Bowl and may have trouble selling it out

I agree but still I thought it was a valid guess. They had similar problems with blackouts before

The last rules they had for blackouts though was a team could choose either sell out, or 85% of a sellout. I guess PK explanation is as good as any, but I know over the last few years it seemed more and more people sought for the blackout to be lifted.

How about that idiot from Nebraska who testedpositive at the combine? He failed twice in college, that we know of. He said he hadnt smoked since dec of 2014 but his levels were so high that is why he still tested positive at the combine.

I call shenanigans on that one!

If you fail a drug test at the combine....that is just plain stupidityl.
