Have you read up on Borland? He's no moron. It won't be NFL coin, but he will have no issues getting paid.

The Colts have proposed a rule change that would allow for a potential of 9 points for a touchdown. The proposal is that a team can attempt a 50 yard field goal if they have a successful 2pt conversion. They would get 1pt for the fg. Sounds like a rule they would've had in the XFL!

I wouldn't mind seeing FG's from longer distances being worth more. Say 50+ 4pts, and 60+ 5pts.

This may have been mentioned but as far as Borland goes, the dude's body was a trainwreck. There were weeks that he couldn't practice with the Niners because of a previous/lingering shoulder injury from college. Sounds like he also had several other injuries. Can't say I blame the guy if he didn't want to walk around like a cripple in his late 20's and he had a backup financial plan.

I agree. It's the NFL, not some gimmicky game show.

It's the Colts. What do you expect? Irsay was probably drunk and said "I have a GREAT idea!"

I do want them to do something about the extra point. It's honestly the most boring play in football; I'd either like to see them move it back to something of respectful distance(35+ maybe so its not super difficult but gives some room for error) or just make teams go for 2 every time. They could also make the now 2-point conversion into a 1 point conversion and if you want to "go for 2" maybe you start from the 10 yard line instead of the 2.

yeah, I dont want the gimmicky stuff like a 3 pt EP, or 1 pt for kicking it into the uprights on a KO. It would be cool if that could happen when the defense has a personal foul on an EP or FG and all that happens is a KO from the 50.

I think moving the EP back is a good idea, and movin gthe 2 pt conversion up to the 1, or half yard line.

Interesting to hear many players take on Borland. He's getting a lot of crap for quitting on his team as he should

Let me get this straight: you're using the opinions of maybe a handful of players who, among that specific group, aren't the brightest guys, and second of all, are already mentally deteriorating, to make your point; yet you don't understand why we're saying you're dumb.

Your intellectual incompetence is truly baffling.

Yeah, all I have heard from the former players is that they support and understand his decision.

I've heard some (Tim Hasselbeck) upset with people calling it retiring, instead of quitting, some BS about you can't retire from a job you've had less than 12months. But outside of that nitpick, even Hasselbeck was supportive of the move, saying you've gotta do whats best for you.

Obviously you can be upset by his decision, as I'm sure his teammates/coaches are, but I doubt any of them fault him.

Yeah, unless you can collect a pension from a job after you leave I would just call it quitting (think NFL players must be in the league 3, or 4, years to get that) but yea, that is just wording and shit.

Pension is small until you hit 4 years where it balloons to $2000 a month and yeah ESPN analysts that were former players were critical of it

Yeah guise, these NFL players are definitely blasting the ***** bitch. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12501613/chris-borland-retirement-players-thinking-life-football

Serious question, who is the dumbest poster on this site? Classy, Tiernan, or Footwedge?

I throw Tiernan out, because he's clearly trolling. Same with IQQY

Whereas the other two I think actually believe the shit they say.

As much as I want to say that, Classy comes off as just a back-country hick who is more ignorant than dumb. Footwedge actually argued against mathematics multiple times; that goes way beyond being ignorant, it's being plain stupid. Pure, unadulterated stupidity.
