Had never heard of JJ's until I got together with my girlfriend. Her oldest son played HS football and she was a regular poster. I lurked on there for awhile before finally joining.

I joined JJhuddle in like 2000/2001 by using a coach's aol email address (back then you had to have certain types of email addresses to signup). I made my name trackandccrunner because I was a freshmen in HS and couldn't think of something better and that was mostly what I joined to talk about. About a year or so later they changed everything and made it so any email address could join but I think there was a $10 fee unless you were already a member then you got grandfathered in. I had to email JJ to tell him I no long had access to my old email I orginally signed up with and he got me reset but also had to change my user name to trackandccruner since they made it so you could only use 15 characters in your name. I think the site later changed that rule and I was able to make it trackandccrunner again. When I graduated HS in 2004 I mostly stayed on the site for Sports/Trivia and the College FB/BB forums.

I joined here the morning after this site got created. I had gotten a text from somone about freehuddle being created but I was at work. I used the trackandccrunner name over here at first but then sign I no longer ran or really cared about track/cc I changed it to my current username.

USed JJ to talk about soccer between 2001 to 2004. First username got banned and then I used my buddies to continue talking on the ST info while in college. I don't really know what ICL is other than maybe some sports division in Youngstown. Either way I kept the same name out of continuity. I like the site as a time waster, and some people have good taste in books/ movies that I may not have seen myself. And the Cleveland sports threads are "fun".

Came to the free huddle instead of dropping $12.
This, except I was in Georgia, not South Carolina.

I remember beating Justincredible 19-18 in a popularity playoff by walking over to my neighbor's house and getting him to punch in the final vote.

I remember Chesapeake.

I remember pissing off other posters by making post celebration threads.

My name comes from someone on another chat site who said I was nothing but a boring Rider fan, and thus BRF.

I joined in 2000 or 2001. I was in 8th grade I believe. Joined to talk shit about high school sports.

Ran what I believe was the first conference pick em contest for HS Football for the old SLL. Many other conferences followed suit. A user by the name of Wildcattt did the stats. Never met him but he did a great job, imported spreadsheets and everything. I even tried incorporate spreads into it at one point...but the JJ brass shut that down.

Came over to the Free Huddle right away. Got the same message Laley did.

I heard of JJ's on 700 WLW. I joined to keep up with HS Wrestling back in the early 2000's, not sure what exact year, don't really care. They got the 'One Time' fee from me back then. Most of the wrestling posters in my area moved on to a different forum so I ventured to the ST/I forum for a while. Over there I was KoJack_00.

When they went pay again, I joined here and ended up being booted from there without breaking any written 'rule' they decided to enforce/make up that day...and have been booted several more times with different names.

This place has been more entertaining than that place ever was.

I lurked/posted some on JJ. Was a long time poster on dawgtalkers but got fed up with their insane rules. For example, you couldn't post or discuss things you read on twitter. If you did, you would get a 7 day ban the first time, 2 weeks the second, month the 3rd, for lyfe the 4th. Couldn't post or discuss blog posts, everything had to a link to the article, with the entire article quoted in your post, any post could be deleted/edited at the mods whim. Mods weren't publicly known, just one big bitch boy power hungry site ran by pathetic fat old men with no lives. So I needed a good place to read/post about Cleveland sports and found this place. Dont remember if I read about it on JJ or through a google search.

It's funny how dawgtalkers was spawned off of the old clevelandbrowns.com/forum for the same reasons that JJ did (- the $12) and then became what they hated. There was a time when I thought OC was heading that direction, thankfully it didn't. All we needed was to get a bad apple removed from Mod power and all was fine again. Bad modding can ruin a forum way faster than any troll.

I lurked on JJ for awhile, as my dad would not even consider charging his credit card for me to sign up for a message board (I was going to pay him cash too). My HS buddy made an account, and I just shared that with him starting in 04. He became inactive with the account after a few months and it pretty much became my account. I mainly posted on the HS football and wrestling forum at that time. I finally discovered the sports/trivia forum, and it was good for Cleveland discussion. When everyone moved to freehuddle/oc I lurked there for a bit and finally joined when I realized you could get away with much more than you could on JJ. JJ had the dumbest fucking rules out there. Also had plenty of posters on there who were complete douche bags, but nobody could call them out, because somehow they were the "coolest" posters on there so they were protected, and JJ had strict rules. When NON (general zod on jj) is one of your "popular" posters, you know you have issues. So, when I saw that the majority of posters felt the same way about people like zwick, non, dynasty, etc and were not punished for telling them about it, I joined the OC. Nothing will ever beat the first year as a member on the OC in terms of message boards. Brought lots of lulz and entertainment.

General Zod was only popular because he had been posting/reading for so long. He knew the ins and outs of the popular posting game by watching others do it at a high level.

When we were on JJ's, I pissed him off something fierce. One of the "look at me" girls who was a cheerleader was trying to win some sort of popularity contest and was urging for Huddle voters. Zod was leading the charge trying to get her the win. The chick was a Steelers fan so with some heavy "**** blocking/recruiting of fellow Browns fans" by myself, she didn't get the win. Zod was so pissed he even signed up as a member of the OBR. Long story....

Just ventured over to JJ. As expected...a ghost town. It looks decent for HS sports though. It used to be a great source for OSU info, but it looks like that section is pretty much dead.

I followed high school football when I officiated it back in the day. Best source for scores was JJ. I think I actually picked up some games to work on-line back then. I think it took me two or three days to find freehuddle.com

I was over there about a year ago and their "general forum", or whatever they call it, was pretty much NCF pulling a "Darby" posting to himself.

I went over there a bit for the football playoffs. Had to get a new name as I was still banned for spamming for this site. (I recall just saying it once on one of the threads). The trivia/fun forum is an absolute joke. Even the football section wasnt very busy during the playoffs, which used to be the heyday. Heck, back in the day they needed multiple football forums to keep up with the traffic.
Now it is nothing more than a convoluted piece of shit site.

I joined JJ back in 2001 or 2002. Can't recall for sure. I was there for high school sports...mostly football, basketball and track. After HS graduation, I spent most of my time on the trivia forum.

I came here the first day with the rest of the refugees.

Went to the Huddle in '01 or so just because it seemed like the shit as far as sports talk on pretty much any level.

Got banned in '06 because, essentially, I'd been grandfathered in on the first "pay to post here" bullshit and they were looking for any reason possible to ban people like us to try to drag $$$ one way or the other.

Said "fuck you, Ans-hole" and spent the next two years at Yappi. Came back when they went free again. When they decided to do the "pay to post here" bullshit again, I jumped on freehuddle the second it was made and immediately started spamming the fuck out of JJ until I finally got IP banned.

No regrets on anything. Things are more mod-relaxed here (in part due to Justin having the foresight to sign me, "Mr. DGAF. Period.", on staff) and we have this neat little, really eclectic and out there, group of personalities to banter and bicker with. Free entertainment is always cool!
