I can see the argument either way. I can't fault him if he does. Gotta strike while the iron is hot.

I think for him it'd be ideal for a team with an established but older QB to pick him up in the 2nd or 3rd and then have him sit, learn and get better.

Brady's replacement?
No doubt. He'll make a team, and 400K is a lot of money for a 22-year old with a young child.

Hard to turn down 450K salary at a minimum especially when you are not even sure you will get to play much for OSU next year.

Brady's replacement?
He could really get very, very lucky. I dont see a shitty team picking him up and expecting him to start right now. I could see NE, Denver, PIttsburgh and maybe a few other decent teams with older established QB's taking him.

I support that decision 100%. I definitely wanted him to come back next year because he is the best QB of the 3 for this system, but I think he can make it in the NFL. He's a 4th round pick at worst; wouldn't surprise me at all to see him picked in the 2nd round.

Now I'm hearing ESPN radio is backing off.

Also he's announcing something at 2pm today at the Ginn Academy.

ESPN fucking hack bastards.

Hell, I'm not mad that he's leaving (assuming he is), not sure any OSU fan should be. What he did for us was nothing short of miraculous.

2nd round? Possible. There will be alot of BS going on in the draft rooms that is for sure and some team very well could just get very antsy and pick him that early.

Considering his situation, I would probably bolt too.

It's only been a few days, interested to hear what type of feedback he received regarding where he could possibly be picked.

Ya he definitely would be somewhat of a gamble. Right after the NCG I mentioned that someone might even grab him in the first out of desperation for a QB. But now that I'm off that winning high I don't think any team would do that. Very small sample size of throws to judge his decision making and ability. But there is enough to showcase his raw talent.

Hell I'd pick him for my team in the 2nd round. The guy has an NFL body and has a cannon for an arm. He certainly is a better value than Mariota(who got exposed) and Winston(who got exposed). I'd take Cardale over both of these guys.

I don't feel like I see a lot of tight throws from Mariota. Most of his highlight TD throws the WR tends to be wide open. I don't study film of him or Oregon so I could be wrong.

I have to assume that tOSU is looking for a way to streamline his dregree? I have to believe obtaining a degree is pretty high up on teh priority list.

That is college for ya. NFL you need to have to be able to throw your receivers open, and have the balls to throw to a receiver who is well covered and put it right where it needs to be. Ya see it every week by the good NFL QBs.

Just be ready for some BIG TIME speculation, more than we may have ever heard, in this draft. Usually it is just from the bad teams for a QB, but even the good ones will be chiming in. Misinformation will be flying and best not to believe much of anything!

Someone go interview taht homeless guy and see if he thinks the browns should take him

I'd be ecstatic to have a Buckeye quarterback make it in the NFL, too. Who's the last one that had any remote success?

Even some of his tighter throws came off plays where the threat of his legs meant he had to fit it near 1 or 2 defenders not 3 or 4. I read a couple weeks ago that if anything concerned NFL scouts, it was that Mariota's tape fell off last year and this year when there was a reduced threat of him running.

EDIT: That being said I still like him as a prospect.

Good question.

Those that I know were on rosters...
Germaine, Prior, Boeckman, Troy Smith.......hell...Bobby Hoying started some games for Philly and Oakland.
Not srue really could say any had alot of success, and most none at all.

He's not holding a presser to say he's coming back.

Good luck to him. He's leaving as a legend in Columbus.

Troy Smith would have had 3 Super Bowl wins and quite a few MVP's by now if anyone ever gave him a shot. He was black balled by the league.

Also can't forget Krenzel is over .500 as a starter in the NFL which according to some people makes him an elite QB.
