You don't think Cardale could be used in much the same roll as Tebow? Maybe "two QB system" was the wrong wording, but using 2 QB's definitely helped them win a National Championship that year. I'll be fine with Barrett or Jones starting, as long as it isn't Miller.

I know we are all about teamwork and all and we would all love to think all parties would be good with it, but if you are Cardale Jones are you happy with just coming in to play every once in awhile?
I think a couple of bad plays, a bad series or two, and you start having fans, coaches and players second guessing whatever QB is in the lineup starting. In the Tebow instance no one knew what kind of player he would become when he was backup up Leak and just doing what he did. Everyone knows now what Jones is capable and has done.
When everything is rolling smoothly it could be OK, but at teh first signs of some adversity it could be a problem.

Then you have the issue of getting 2 QB's ready and enough reps instead of the starter getting the bulk and the backup getting a few.

Oh, I don't think they'll use that system, just throwing it out there as a possibility. I will say this, do you think Cardale would be more ok with playing every once in a while or not playing at all. I mean, whomever isn't the starter isn't going to be happy. It's a tough decision for sure, but a nice problem to have.

Nice problem to have, and better than the alternative of not having depth that is for sure. Play PT or not all all? Of course he will say the former, but you have to wonder how it would all go down and his attitude once it all is happening. In his mind he knows he is good enough, and knows he could be on some NFL roster making 420K. No way he ends on on a practice squad as someone would pick him up.

We all know they will all say the right things, but you never know how it will play out once the practice and games start.

It's going to be interesting to see how many QB's Urban can keep at OSU over the years. This team will have 5 maybe 6 QB's on the roster this year that are talented guys.

For what reason? JT is a better running QB than Cardale. Tebow was short yardage because he was better than Leak. Get where you are coming from. And maybe there will be some plan in place. I guess the question is, or statement, is how do you keep Cardale off the field after what he just did? But maybe Meyer is about the competition, and whoever wins that, is the QB. Its a new season next year.
Miller..well, if he is 100% healthy, and he competes and wins the job, I'll take him. The guy can play, and would have been the most decorated Big Ten player of all time. Lead and flat out carried OSU on his shoulders to their undefeated season two years ago. Completed 65% of his passes last year. Poeple are down on him...for what reason? Losing 2 games last year? Hmmm, look at defense past two years compared to this year? Defense this year, is WHY OSU really won the title when it comes down to it. Defense was flat out awful previous two seasons. That wasn't Millers fault. Basically, at this point, I trust Meyer in whoever he decides who will be the starting QB next year. I also beleive/know JT and Cardale had more weapons around this year than Miller did previous seasons. Or maybe the QB is a product of the system Meyer is running

I know this really has little to do with it, but what do you think Stephen Collier is thinking? There's 3 guys in front of him, and 2 guys coming in that are supposed to be studs. If he wants to play, I'd assume he'd look elsewhere.

Maybe, but wasn't JT pretty much in this same situation a year ago? Miller returning, Cardale ahead of him on depth chart. One never knows how things will play out.

Second year in a row I have heard some "experts" recommend a player sit for a season. Last year it was clowney....now Zeke?
When will we see this actually happen?

The ones that don't start and want to play will transfer. There won't be 6 QBs at Ohio State all 4 years who can start on any team in the country.

Jones' size(like Tebow) makes him more valuable in certain situations. Plus if you can use Jones in certain situations to lessen the amount of times Barrett is hit, that's a good thing. Like I said, I don't care who starts, but it could be advantageous to use 2 guys from a health standpoint.

This was a discussion on PTI last night. They were saying that he should play in the CFL.

I guess he can make some coin in the CFL but I though the point of sitting out was to not get hurt? I would say he is more likely to get hurt up there than at OSU where a number of OSU games they will be so far out in front he will be taken out early.

It's the right move.

I think for him it'd be ideal for a team with an established but older QB to pick him up in the 2nd or 3rd and then have him sit, learn and get better for a few years like Rodgers with Favre.

Brady's replacement?

If Miller stays, I'd run a lot of him with jet motion, sweep run/pass option. It would keep the DE out of the veer dive option.
