The more you think about it.......Jones will be the frontrunner with Barrett the backup. Miller's shoulder will put him behind everyone else.
If Jones works in the offseason and just doesn't enjoy his newfound fame, I think he is most likely the guy unless what we saw those three weeks was a fluke.

I didn't believe it so I looked it up too, and I actually agree with this. Not the smartest thing to say just months before the NFL Draft.

And as for the deep ball between Barrett and Jones, Barrett hit Smith on a deep ball 8 times in 12 games while Jones hit him 6 times in 3 games. Looking at how each of them threw them though it's clear that Barrett is more conservative on going for it because all of his hit Smith in stride and weren't really jump balls, whereas 2 of the 3 against Wisconsin Jones just threw it up for Smith to grab over the CB.

Either way, the point isn't that Barrett can throw the deep ball like Jones because we all know Jones has the best arm in college football, it's just that he is more than capable of throwing the ball downfield.

This, for no other reason than Jones is healthy and not coming off a major injury. I'm okay with either guy, but this way, JT can work in more comfortably without having to push it.

Think its safe to say it really is just a 2 horse race with Miller really not having a chance.

?????. If healthy. Braxton will start...no questions asked. The 2 time BIG player of the year will never lose his job to anybody. This is why Cardale screwed up big time.

Out of all the talk on this, on here and nationally, you may be the only one to think that's how it's going to play out. More power to you though, just don't see it happening.

Chris Carter basically said the exact thing Footwedge said lol.

I dont don't know how you don't start Cardale. What he did against Oregon, Alabama, and Wisconsin is a known fact. We don't know what he did against the shitty teams on our schedule but I'm going out on a limb and going to say better the. He did against the number 1,2, and 14 teams in the nation. JT had a great year but his injury leaves it unknown what he could do against the very best teams. Why play an unknown when the known is right in front of you.

Dude...you better get used to it. Right or wrong...It's Miller...then Barrett...then Jones. The ONLY way it doesn't happen that way is if injuries get in the way. You have any loose change that you want to wager? Didn't think so.

And to all the rest that don't understand it...watch and learn.

Urban will play his pets in the order he originally had it planned.

I think if hes healthy its Braxton.

Then its Cardale. Barring injury or suspensions...Braxton or Cardale are starting game one.

Sorry wedge, but LOL at anyone who thinks the order is established by what previously existed. Urban Meyer is going to play the guy who NOW moves the football team best. Braxton Miller with 2 shoulder surgeries is no longer Braxton Miller 2012/2013. JT Barrett 2014 is now JT Barrett coming off a major ankle fracture.

Wont be miller. They are saying he probably wont even be able to throw by spring practice.
He is the 3rd option on this team to play QB.

He has already been tossing the football around, lightly for a few weeks. Ahead of schedule and working extremely hard in rehab. But ya, its well known he won't be a go for spring ball. Either will JT.

I would say he throws the worst of the three QB's. Coming off an injury, throws the worst of the three, last season of eligibility, and is competing against a guy who put up heisman numbers and the other won the NC...............Miller will be the 3rd option.

It would make zero sense to start Braxton Miller at QB. I posted the tweets from Pete Thamel a few days back, and they basically don't know if Miller can ever be a QB again. It's Jones or Barrett, most likely Jones.

Agreed. Plus, if he is the starter what are the chances he finishes and/or doesnt miss time?
I know this year it didnt matter having a backup come in and doing well but I wouldnt think that would be the smartest course to take!

Not saying it should be Miller next year. But again, I think people forget that he did in fact complete nearly 65% of his passes two years ago. He got better each year as well. What he would have done this past year with the weapons that the other two had...we can only guess. But I would venture to say he would have been neck and neck with Marriota for the Heisman. The guy would have been the most decorated player in the history of the big ten as well. Just bothers me a bit that people discount what Miller did for this program. He litterally carried this team for 3yrs as the defense was just bad. And I hope that IF it would happen to be Miller who wins the job(doubtful, and I think he will leave anyway if healthy), that OSU fans don't turn into idiots and turn on him.
Quite honestly, OSU will and should win every game going into the Big Ten title game with any three of the QB's. Too much overall talent on this team.

I don't think anyone is implying that Miller isn't good; they are simply stating that he may not be the same Miller we had in the past few years. Jones and JT both proved they are very capable QBs with Jones winning 3 big time games in a row. Since Jones is the only healthy QB going into spring/next year, he's probably the favorite. I don't really care who plays QB next year since they are all really good QBs but my pick is Jones.

I just don't think the offense ran as smoothly with Miller as it has with Jones and Barrett. And let's not act like Miller didn't have plenty of weapons. He had the same receiving corp plus a starting NFL receiver, he had Hyde, a professional offensive line, and the same TE's.
