So all programs should scrap one of their creampuff games because 2 teams will have to play a 16th game?FatHobbit;1695919 wrote:So scrap one of the shitty preseason games and play the first round in early December.

North Dakota State just went 15-1 including a first round playoff bye. High school teams play 16 in Texas and California.vdubb96;1695899 wrote:Can't see how they add more games to these kids. Ohio State basically just played an NFL season. If they expand the playoffs to 8 teams, I'd imagine some payments are gonna start coming to these players.
If push comes to shove, you could always reduce the regular season back to 11. I would hope we get to 8 teams sooner than later.

That makes more sense to me than saying we can't have 8 teams in the playoff because they play too many other games that don't matter.thavoice;1695923 wrote:So all programs should scrap one of their creampuff games because 2 teams will have to play a 16th game?

I don't think it was just your confidence. I don't know why, but entering the game, I felt great. My friends and I were picking scores and I said they'd win by three scores. Made me amazingly happy to see that meaningless late-game TD!SportsAndLady;1695918 wrote:Amazing game. So fun sitting on OSU's side going absolutely ape shit with everyone.
I don't know if it was just my confidence but I really felt in the hours leading up to this game that we were going to win and I feel like the crowd felt it too. There was no nervousness or anxiety, just everyone waiting to party and celebrate. Bucks fans were great last night. Walking out of jerry's world hearing the loud "O H" cheers was euphoric.
The score actually should have been a lot worse then 22 points. It was a complete domination if not for our stupid turnovers.
Urban is the fucking man. Watching him on the sidelines, the intensity he brings..good lord how can you not get amped as a player seeing him?
And ZEEK...just a monster performance. Guy just hits the holes and hits them hard. And on the national championship stage? Guy had nearly 700 rushing yards and 10 tds in the postseason this year. Oh and 5 other Big Ten RBs were voted all conference over him. LOL
I can't wait for next years team. Basically all of these guys will be coming back. Love it

The majority of my OSU supporting family/friends were calling a W since the day after the Bama game. Some wouldn't even consider losing was a possibility. As usual, I was cautious a fuck...thanks Tressel!

Get rid of a creampuff, what if you are that creampuff and use the money from playing Ohio State to support your athletic programs! The world isnt just the power 5 conferences!

Listening to TV/Radio...most were calling an OSU victory as well. Which kind of made me worry! But as one analyst said, besides the QB position, OSU really has better players at almost every other position, mainly up front on both sides of lines. Really amazing they were...what, 5.5 dogs going into this game? To turn ball over 4 times and win as they did...just flat out says, OSU was THAT much better team.Automatik;1695937 wrote:The majority of my OSU supporting family/friends were calling a W since the day after the Bama game. Lets not be naive.......Meyer may say that outwardly that they need more schollies if they are going to have 16 games, but he really is just saying he would rather horde more talentFatHobbit;1695929 wrote:That makes more sense to me than saying we can't have 8 teams in the playoff because they play too many other games that don't matter.

A reporter asked Urban about taking a knee. LMAO
Urban Meyer on why Ohio State punched final touchdown in instead of taking a knee: "I didn't even think about taking a knee."

I was feeling pretty confident until Oregon scored so easy on their first drive and then we had to punt. I had just a moment of doubt...Heretic;1695932 wrote:I don't think it was just your confidence. I don't know why, but entering the game, I felt great.

I think he would have taken a knee if Oregon didn't have those 2 time outs. The reality is Oregon could have stopped the clock twice and we were only up 2 scores so a 3rd isn't out of the question.Commander of Awesome;1695955 wrote:A reporter asked Urban about taking a knee. LMAO

I mean the Oregon offense only looked good on their first drive but after that they fizzled. Sure, they had a long bomb on a broken coverage the rest of the game but it was mostly just shitty field goals.FatHobbit;1695959 wrote:I was feeling pretty confident until Oregon scored so easy on their first drive and then we had to punt. Impossible to duplicate what Oregon does in practice. That first drive was like an "oh fuck" moment for the defense.FatHobbit;1695959 wrote:I was feeling pretty confident until Oregon scored so easy on their first drive and then we had to punt. I had just a moment of doubt...
I think that third down drop, the first one, was H U G E. He catches that...they continue on....you never know what happens but hey....drops are a part of the game and OSU imposed their will on the lines last night.

This is spot on. I think the uptempo pace of the offense is difficult to replicate in practice and they needed to settle in on it. Once we settled in on it, you could see the talent disparity. As far as the drops, we had 4 turnovers and still won by 22 points. I think its safe to say Oregon caught all the breaks this game and Ohio State was clearly the superior team.thavoice;1695963 wrote:Impossible to duplicate what Oregon does in practice. I think the drops may have been partly due to missing their 2 best receivers.
And as far as the turnovers, even if they didn't cause all of them, they were still in position to recover them.
But every team has injury issues. OSU did a great job overcoming theirs. And the defense did a GREAT job limiting Oregon's points off turnovers.

Urban asked about going to the NFL one day and says "Not right now, I have a commitment to Ohio State and these kids." Never thought he would consider the NFL but thought that was interesting.

Just stupid good
@BruceFeldmanCFB: In games vs teams that finished No.2, No.4, No.5 & No. 13 in the nation, Ezekiel Elliott ran for 850 yards (213 ypg). 8.6 ypg & 10 TDs.

Obviously, Zeek is a great RB but I give a lot of credit to the offensive line. They opened up a ton of holes against Alabama and Oregon that allowed him to get in space.wildcats20;1695993 wrote:Just stupid good

I guess at that point, I was second-guessing the three score win part, but not overly worried, since they'd had a worse start against Alabama. If Oregon had kept moving the ball like they did the first drive, I'd have been scared, but I had a feeling the defense would at least figure things out enough to slow down the Oregon offense. Didn't expect them to do so that emphatically, but with all the turnovers, that was a very good thing.FatHobbit;1695959 wrote:I was feeling pretty confident until Oregon scored so easy on their first drive and then we had to punt. Absolutely. The O Line went from looking like complete bums(against Tech) to looking like the Cowboys of the 90s with Emmitt in the back field.sleeper;1695997 wrote:Obviously, Zeek is a great RB but I give a lot of credit to the offensive line. Per Bovada, odds on starting QB next year:
Cardale 11/10
Braxton 5/4
JT 7/2

I'm not surprised. The "people" love Brax.
Golic said this morning he would take Brax over JT.
