Spam. I know I eat a lot of what would be considered "paleo" but the thought of eating ground up offal (scrapple) makes me want to puke.

It's essentailly pig organs ground up and mixed with corn meal, etc to make kind of a "loaf" that can be cut and fried.

Doesn't a bite of spam have about 65000000 grams of sodium?

I think it's pretty loaded with it but still a lesser evil than ground up pig organs & corn meal, imo. Wonder if that comes with a side of dogs ass?

I know this is how most scrapple is made but my grandma would make it with just pork scraps no offal. It was really good. I have tried it with the offal in it and it is no where near as good as what I had as a kid. Not a big spam fan but if I could eat scrapple Like my grandmas I would choose it every time.

Never had them but my girlfriend worked with a lady who had a boyfriend who made them all the time. The lady walked in and saw the guy prepping/cleaning them out and she said "those look like intestines with shit in them" to which he said "they are." She proceeded to run out of the room and puke.

I'll go with fried rollmops.

I did grow up eating Spam occasionally, my parents are both military veterans and loved the stuff. I got the idea it reminded them of their service days. My wife and sons love it too. I can tolerate it, but it's not my favorite.

My mom grew up on the mountain in West Virginia, with 9 siblings. I never ever heard of them eating scrapple, and I know my grandmother never made it when I visited. Money was tight, they usually ate usually biscuits, eggs, cabbage, onions, and blackberries, and whatever else they could grow on their little farm.

When Hamilton Township won the Mid-State League Buckeye football league championship last season, I got on the PA microphone and yelled, "Whoa mama - break out a can o' Spam and fire up the grill. We're gonna party tonight!".

Yeah, not sure what's causing it to hit so hard all of a sudden.
