If you don't think Winston reads defenses well you don't have a clue. Take some time and research how Jimbo Fisher structured his offense. Winston had complete control over reading and adjusting to the defense both pre and post snap. As a coach you don't hand over the reins like that, and go 27-1 over 2 years doing so, with a QB who can't read defenses well.

I've heard everything from "Winston is the most NFL ready QB since Andrew Luck" to "Winston will be the next Jamarcus Russell." Time will tell.....

There is a reason Winston is still going to be the first player taken even with all of his off field shit.

Ok.
Maybe he reads defenses just fine.

Then he just makes bad throws throwing 18 INTs last season.

Because he is the most NFL ready QB since Luck and he could be the next Jamarcus if he doesn't lose his immaturity. His QB'ing ability is a separate analysis from his maturity level.

I don't think any reputable source thinks Winston is going to fail because of what transpires on the field; that sort of take seems to be coming just from Rob and thavoice.

He also is being compared to Roethlisberger.

He is already halfway there for that comparison......

Agreed. I've heard him most compared to Roethlisberger. Not sure if that was because of his talent or because of the rape allegations.

Scouts miss badly all the time, every year.

Your point runs counter to every scout's report about Winston's on the field ability. You literally made up an argument that he can't read defenses well when there's plenty of evidence to the contrary.

Not really. They do miss often enough. Also...enough guys who dont get drafted at all make it. That is a total miss by scouts

Leaf and Manning were 1 and 1a. Turned out a little bit different!

That has nothing to do with my post. Scouts missing has nothing to do with my post. Rob making up that Winston doesn't read defenses well is the only reference I'm making in my post.

I didn't make up anything, he had a ton of terrible reads/throws/interceptions and more that should have been intercepted that were dropped. If I'm a team drafting a QB that would scare me. I don't care if a guy can make all the throws, if you can't make the right reads and take care of the football I wouldn't take you, turnovers lose football games and get guys fired.

Did you watch him last year, their title winning season? I'm gonna go with no.

Rob just stop. The entirety of the Seminoles 27-1 run was premised offensively on Jameis' ability to read defenses pre and post snap. That's why he's considered a vastly more "pro-ready" prospect than Mariota.

The more you think you're right the worse you continue to look.

That record means nothing, people keep pointing to the fact that he was a winner. For one they played a very weak schedule and struggled against bad teams, and two he was surrounding by an immense amount of talent, more than anyone else in the country. He's considered more pro ready because of the offense that Mariota played in, it's that simple.

Couldn't disagree more with rob.

If there's one thing that isn't in question with Winston it's his ability to read a defense.

That's fine that you disagree but did you see the amount of bad throws that he made last year? That's a major reg flag. If you're great at reading a defense you don't make those throws, period. One or two I could see, he had that times ten.

What do you make of 18 ints last season? Just curious.
