"The former University of Michigan standout will always be viewed as a chief example of squandered talent, and he certainly isn't doing his off-field reputation any favors either."

While he never lived up to his potential off the field, his is not the first name that I think of when the term 'squandered talent' comes up.

If he would've just caught the damn ball and quit whining with the "they hate me because I'm from Michigan" bullshit he would have been embraced.

Why are we talking about fucking Leon? He's a bum, always been a bum, always gonna be a bum. Move on.

Cooper signed his contract. Go Browns.

Agreed but now that I'm thinking about it, he really did squander talent. He was really good at Michigan/early on.

1 good season, 3 decent for a #2 seasons while leading the NFL in drops. He was also good at losing to OSU (minus his senior yr). BUM

If only that were close to being true. His hands were terrible.

NFL bum plus being the Biletnikoff winner, the 3rd NCAA WR in history to have 3 consecutive years of 1000+ yards, B1G Offensive Player of the Year, and All-American.

Definition of squandered talent. Not sure if you were adding to my point or opposing it.

College doesn't mean shit in the NFL. Looks at West, had 41 TDs his senior yr in college, if he's not an MVP candidate is he squandered talent too?

My point is that Leon had 1 GOOD yr, and a bunch of meh to terrible years. He was in the league for 10 seasons, which was closer to the norm? His 1200 yd season, or his career avg 500 yd 4 TD season? Fact of the matter is he sucks.

Good college player? FUCK YOU, go home and play with your college buddies. Want to work in the NFL, CLOSE.

If you're basing your argument on comparing the production of a Towson player vs a player in the B1G back when the B1G was great, then I'm out of this debate now. That's not rational.

B1G is still great, undisputed college football champion last season.

What I'm saying is so what is Leon won some awards in college. College awards don't equal success in the NFL. He was trash in the NFL. Not squandered talent, bc he had a lucky season. His CAREER avg was 500yds, 4 TDs. That's not squandered talent, that's another garbage scUM player trying to play in the NFL.

Gotcha. I see what you're saying, I just don't agree. To me, that kind college production and being drafted that high is a sign of immense talent and when the player fails to live up to that talent, no matter the reason, that talent is squandered.

I get that you're saying he was just never that talented in the first place.

Yup, lot of untalented players get stats in college. See Tebow/Aaron Maybin.

Always found this commercial to be very ironic. Even during Braylon's best season he had a shit ton of drops. I (wishfully) told myself it was because DA would throw rocket passes whether he was 2 or 20 yards away.

He had more drops that season (19) than entire teams had.

What you guys think of Pettine taking a more active role in the offense? Saw the article this weekend and he kind of compares his team to being able to win like the Jets did with Sanchez at QB....
