Shannahan and Pettine will probably review the film tomorrow, and have a discussion. I have a feeling shanny will be pulling hard for Manziel. He needs to call better games though regardless of QB. The last couple weeks it has looked like Shurmur has been our OC at times. Crowell and West are not meant to run toss sweeps.
I'll be surprised if we see much more of West against Indy. You could tell Pettine was livid, in his postgame presser, about that fumble. Wouldn't be surprised to see more Winston than West with the Crow handling most of the load.
That being said, Shanahan played right into Buffalo's hands running on 1st down. Most of the successful runs they had today were after feeding Gordon those short passes. They had to respect "pass first" and then they went away from it and it became predictable.
At this point, I've seen enough of Hoyer. He's a sinking ship right now. This team has improved immensely over hte past year but they really aren't that good. Losses to Jacksonville, Houston, Buffalo and a miracle win against a bad Tennessee team show that.
7-9/8-8 would be a disappointment after how they started out but I think if you ask most Browns fans if they'd be pleased with 7-8 wins, prior to the season, they'd say "yes." Doesn't mean we're "content" because the goal is to win it all, but this team isn't close to that.
