Cueto
Bailey
Leake
Cingrani
TBD

They could obviously still move Leake and Cueto too, as they are free agents.

I think better hitting takes alot of those BP losses out of the picture. Because they couldnt hit themselves outta wet paper bag it kept so many games close and very little margin for error for the BP.

Good to move Simon. As great as he stepped up last year I believe this is the best he will ever be for trade value.

Latos is probably a good move as he has been hurt alot.

Now if they get rid of JC as well.....now that isnt a good deal but he will command too much.

True.
But what he can command will be outrageous especially if he pitches well again this season

I would hold on to Cueto until the trade deadline, unless you get some big time prospects for him right now.

Boras did it again.

When he seems boxed in he goes to the Nationals and they bail him out.

This will be just like Werth deal a few years ago that was such a disaster.

The only thing I am really surprised about is that the deal for Scherzer is being reported at only 7 years. No dollars have leaked out yet, but I suspect probably $200 million over 7 years knowing Boras.

I'm not sure where reality plays into the conversation for you, so I'm just going to set this here http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/51375/remember-the-bad-jayson-werth-contract

ESPn saying 7/$210 million. That would sound about right as Kershaw is the current highest paid pitcher at $30 million a year. I bet Scherzer wanted to at least tie him in average annual salary.

They were reporting 180 this morning but anyways.....
Way too much money for a guy who plays 35 games. Granted, I mean, granite, a great pitcher can put you in every game he pitches but still....

Reds fans better enjoy cueto....as he isn't going to be around long.

It's getting to the point of being almost a $1 million a start. Considering those guys usually go 6-7 innings that is like a $150,000 an inning on a 7 inning start, or $50,000 an out.

That is insane.

Strasburg becomes completely unsignable after this deal. Boras is going to be looking to totally break the bank.

Yeah, the Nats made a great move here. Sign him for 7 years playing, but pay for 14 years. Essentially cutting his salary in half. Might hurt having that much money going to nothing at the end, but gives them a pretty sizeable window to win now.

Always thought more teams should do this.

I will say the Tigers positioned themselves pretty well to let Max go.

Price
Verlander
Sanchez
Simon
Greene

Pretty damn good rotation regardless, combined with a good lineup this should be a playoff team yet again. Hopefully Verlander gets it going again though, if he does then Detroit becomes the AL front runner probably

Tigers suck. Top 26 team at best.
