Bama playing Va Tech in the Georgia Dome doesn't count....

LSU went to Washington this year, other than that, Georgia at ASU and Okie St. the past 2 years.

Big-time OOC games involving SEC teams are few and far between.

that's what I thought... doesn't happen often enough to prove that they'll play anybody anywhere...

and they won't do it without a return game most of the time. Then again, most BCS conference schools won't

Well here is the last 3 years. I dont know the 2010 schedules, and I dont need to go beyond 07 to show my point. Bama and PSU play each other the next 2 years, and LSU plays WVU.

This is going to be a busy day of watching football!!

LSU doesn't really lose much in terms of overall talent, whereas NC is going to lose some play makers on defense, like Carter and Austin. Despite LSU's lack of any sort of offense, they should be able to get a W in that game.

Florida State loses a bit on defense, and Oklahoma State loses their #1 WR, and their QB, along with a couple guys on D. OK State is in rebuilding next year, so FSU may be able to take it.

Even if OSU loses Heyward AND Gibson, they'll still be able to stop Jacory. He's simply not a good QB, contrary to what people say. He can sometimes make plays on his feet, but the kid can't read a defense, and he holds onto the ball longer than Terrelle Pryor (if that's possible). Either way, OSU's defense leads them to a Victory.

Penn State @ Alabama will be a VERY good game. PSU loses Clark, and potentially Royster on offense, and I believe 2 OL. They will lose Odrick, and most likely Bowman on defense, two of their biggest play makers, and Sean Lee. However, Bama loses McClain, Kareem Jackson, Mt. Cody, Deaderick, Arenas, etc. along with Mike Johnson on the OL and Colin Peek. Bama could really struggle next year. Yes, they have very talented recruits, and they won't miss a beat with Marcel Dareus filling in for Deaderick, not to mention Dont'a Hightower will be healthy again, but they will miss Cody, McClain, and their two starting corners. Bama should win this game, but it will be a very good game.

USF and Florida is another game that could be exciting simply because of all the talent Florida is losing on defense in Dunlap, Brandon "watch your eyes" Spikes, Major Wright, Joe Haden, etc. USF and BJ Daniels looks to be a powerful offense next season who should have a strong enough team to make a bowl game. However, even though Brantley is no Tebow, I think Florida will still win by 7+ points.

LSU vs. North Carolina (Georgia Dome)
LSU by 20+. Jefferson will have a good season next year and UNC doesn't have the players to match up with LSU.

Fla St. @ Okl. St.
Who cares? Both will lose at least 5 games next year.

Miami (FL) @ Ohio St.
If Heyward comes back and they play like they did in the Rose Bowl I like their chances. If they don't, I don't.

Penn State @ Alabama
I can't see Penn State winning in Tuscaloosa with a QB making his second start. Hopefully they can keep it close, but I doubt it.

Pitt @ Utah
Should be a good game. Utah takes it Pitt comes out uninspired against a mid major on the road. Pitt takes it if their D-line plays up to their potential and they run the ball well.

USF @ Florida
Florida along the lines of 41-10. Way too much talent for South Florida to hang.

Army is in West Point, NY. I also do not count North Carolina as 'traveling out of SEC country'. North Carolina borders 2 SEC states and most of those schools are actually closer to the Universities of Tennessee, Georgia, and South Carolina than most other SEC schools.

The Big Ten and SEC both severely lack road trips outside of their conference states or bordering states. I believe the Big XII and Pac 10 travel A LOT more than both conferences, although the Big Ten does hold a slight advantage over the SEC. The numbers for both conferences are not great.

LSU is losing alot more talent then what people think. And thanks for the Army answer.

Gameday will be at the OSU/Miami game. They MAY both be ranked in the top 5, although Miami's loss to Wisconsin might make them more of like a 7-10.

I don't know how you can rank Miami in the preseason top 10 after they lost 4 games this year, and if they start outside the top 10 any more than #12 they won't move into the top 10 to even make it a top 10 matchup

There are a lot of OSU guys that have checked their draft status with the NFL that are Juniors; the two biggest loses would be Heyward and Gibson, and I hope they both come back; if one of them comes back we'll be ok. but we're not going to lose 10 juniors to the draft

OSU is definitely going to be ranked top 5. Are you serious? Basically the whole offense coming back. Same with the defense, although we may lose a few but we have great depth on D. Pryor leading the way. He played well and we beat Oregon in the Rose Bowl. I don't really see how you don't think they'd be top 5 next year. I think it's safe to assume that the offense will improve and OSU MIGHT have the best defense in the nation next year. We saw what they did to Oregon...

Miami will probably be top 10, had they beat Wisconsin I'd say they would be. But Miami is a big time program and the voters would love to see them back on top. I think the expectations for them next year are going to be pretty high so I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them in the top 10.

10 or 11 "declared" for the draft. They just put their name out there to see what NFL scouts think. Tressell reccommends they do this each year. None of them hire agent or usually stop going to classes. Id guess they might lose 3 out of those 11 early to the NFL.

They have filed paperwork but the only ones that truly may leave are Gibson, Heyward, and Chekwa. The first two have great reasons and Chekwa just thinks he can go pro lol.

The only thing I've heard is Gibson and Chekwa might go. Supposedly Heyward is staying. I'm sure we'll know more in the next few weeks.

The only certain loss is Coleman and I for one don't think that's as huge a loss as some do. I still think he is overrated. Good player, not a great player like he's pegged to be though.

Am I serious? Yeah, I was seriously wondering how they would be top 5, because I "thought" they were losing alot of players to draft. I didnt know, that most of them probably wouldnt go. Ok, well if you don't pay attention to OSU's roster then what business do you have talking about where they'll be ranked? And what does being top 10 by the end of the year have to do with anything? You aren't following this conversation very well--I said originally that Gameday will most likely be at the OSU/Miami game because one (maybe both) will be preseason top 5 and Miami will likely be at least top 10. The game is week 2, not week 11, so where they rank at the end of the season really doesn't mean shit in this discussion.
