Miss States best win will be at home vs Auburn. Auburn will finish with 4 losses and probably around number 20. Ohio States best win will be over a top 10 team on the road and a top 20 team at a neutral site.

I think the conference champion argument is a better route to go then who they beat. Because OSU also has by far the worst loss of the contenders. VT may not even get a bowl game.

I could be wrong, but not sure that's possible. If Wisky beats Minny, Minny won't be in the top 20, and if Minny wins, they would get into the top 20, but we wouldn't play Wisky.

I think if Minny plays Wisky tough, they could stay close where they will be at tomorrow nite, which could be top 20. Don't know yet. But think its possible if they hang close. Its at Wisconsin. So a close game would bode well with many IMO.

Hypothetical what if?

Wisconsin wins out, beating 1-loss Ohio State in the B1G Title Game.
Missouri wins out, beating 1-loss Alabama in the SEC Title Game
UCLA wins out, beating 1-loss Oregon in the Pac 12 Title Game.
TCU loses to Texas.
Mississippi State loses to Ole Miss.
Baylor loses to Kansas State.

1. Florida State

All finish with 2 losses...

Wisconsin
Ohio State
Michigan State
Oregon

Who gets the last 3 spots? Emergency committee meeting to expand to a 16-team playoff to include Florida State, those 13 teams, Marshall and Colorado State (just because I need a 16th)?

I think FSU is on high upset alert this week. Florida playing for Muschamp in his final game, and the Florida D is legit. This could be a very interesting weekend.

Why not FSU losing to Florida and GT....then you'd have 15 teams with 2 losses

Agree with this. Although being at FSU..advantage. Florida has to get some QB play though. Or run the ball as they did vs Georgia. The FSU defense isn't all that great. But an upset wouldn't shock me.

I agree, but I think they have to win convincingly over ttun this weekend..if they squeak one out, they're leaving the door open...jmo

Interesting when I brought up last week about OSU needing style points in last two games and some where saying they just need to win. Now after IU game, they all of a sudden need style points? ha. Much is going to depend on where they are tonite, 6 or 7. If 7, they will need style points. If they stay at 6..I think a "solid (10-17pt) win, and beating Wisconsin(if they win) will be enough. The reality is, the Big12 is gonna be hurt by not having a title game. I also expect an upset or two coming this weekend or in title games. As mentioned, last year, 3 of top 4 teams lost in the last two weeks. Wouldn't be surprised to see something similar coming.

I've always been consistent that if OSU wins out, they are in. I don't think it matters if they win by 100 or win by 1, win and in.

I think the only way that doesnt become true is if the slip by Michigan and in the BTC game, and 4 of the teams in front of them win out, win big and have tremendous showings.


History has proven though that at least one of the contending teams will fall at least once the rest of the year

If Georgia Tech won out and beat FSU, that means they beat Georgia. They wouldn't finish with 2 losses.

The way I see it the B12 teams are already eliminated due to a lack of a championship game. That leaves the top 4 as Alabama, Oregon, FSU, Miss State. So really its OSU vs. MSU and MSU will not even win its own division and won't win a championship. Miss St isn't impressive enough to jump a champion of a major conference.

Obviously if MSU/Alabama/FSU/Oregon lose OSU has a much better chance, but right now it's about 90% chance OSU gets in. Any of them losing makes OSU 100% in.

The Big 12 isn't the team to worry about. The worst scenario for OSU is Alabama winning out, being the consensus #1 team and having MSU sitting there in the mix with their only loss being a 5-point loss at Bama. The ONLY thing that helps OSU or Baylor would be the argument that MSU didn't win the SEC. Every other sign points to them being the 4th seed.
