I'm sure a lot of centers in the NBA could pull off dribbling a few times and throwing a dunk on someone.Azubuike24;1707094 wrote:...and I'm sure I'll get the typical comments, but how many centers can pull this off?

I wish at times, he'd get his head on straight. And I still think he would thrive on a quality team with a veteran star, until he's an established veteran himself.

McDaniels is gone and they didn't really get anything of value back, Noel hasn't shown anything to indicate that he's a franchise changer, and LOL at Wroten. He's a bad role player on the worst roster in the NBA. He can't shoot, turns it over way too much, and advanced stats tend to hate him. Which means the Sixers front office probably does, too.Azubuike24;1707092 wrote:The next 2 off-seasons will make or break Philly. McDaniels, Wroten and Noel were solid finds though.
Basketball Reference ‏@bball_ref Feb 19 The only qualified player with a career 25+ USG% & a worse ORtg than MCW is his former teammate, Tony Wroten http://gaedel.me/JlAwj

The point isn't about their current roster going forward, it's what they will do with the mounds of picks. They have drafted decently the last few years with those guys. I'm aware KJ is gone, and Wroten may not be around in 2016. Same with Noel, although if you take him at face value for what he brings, he's not a bad pick in a weak draft. Of their last 2 drafts though, the shittiest pick is probably Embiid. Those other 4 guys (including MCW) were solid. If they don't whiff on the next few drafts, they will be decent in 3 years.

Furthermore, if Philly can come away with Russell/Mudiay and someone like Winslow, Oubre, Stanley Johnson and Embiid gives them something in 2015-16, at least there would be some promise. They have almost unlimited cap room as well.

Unlimited cap room... only on paper. With that many young players. You're gonna have to pay some of them. Or else that'd mean they still really really suck and it won't matter.

Well they will have some rookie salaries that kick in, but you're talking a likelihood of 40-45M in cap space. The biggest obstacle will be, what do they use it on? Who will sign there?

Nobody is signing there. But these rookie contracts will be gone at some point. This is an overpay league. So they'll lose guys because they don't have the money at some point. Or again they'll still have money if they sick because they'll just keep trading guys for more picks.

Well, their cap space is huge for the 2016 off-season. They have 25M committed to next year, so still some space. Their 2015 draft picks will take up some space in 2015, but the 2016 FA class isn't exactly stellar. Maybe Kobe will return home haha.

This. Money always helps, but it seems just as important to free agents: does one of my friends play thereMidstate01;1707135 wrote:Nobody is signing there.

No guard on Sacremento even had a good game so that's not the case either.

Booked a weekend trip to Charlotte next weekend and picked up tickets to the Raptors - Hornets game that Friday. I haven't been to a pro game in about ten years and my wife never has been so should be pretty cool -- for a Hornet's game, anyways.

Harden is just absolutely filthy. Trying to find the video of him breaking some T'wolves dudes ankles twice.
Remember when there used to be an argument about harden being a top NBA player?

That was basically a shot at sleeper. Also saying there USED to be arguments about him being a top NBA player...not anymore.

What's everyone's MVP ranks right now?
It's gotta be Curry at this point right?

Lebron James is my pick. He's the best player in the league who took a shit team who barely could do anything to title favorites. But then again, Curry is a great player too but Lebron is straight just better.Commander of Awesome;1707748 wrote:What's everyone's MVP ranks right now?

Westbrook has crept into the discussion, IMO.
In the end, I think it comes down to LBJ and Curry.
