Worst trade of the year goes to the 76ers. MCW for peanuts and draft picks. Stupid.

I don't think Dragic stays with the Heat because he's going to want a big deal at the end of the season. I don't think the Heat pay him.

I'd bet money he stays with Miami. They wouldn't have done the trade if he wasn't

Essentially the Heat traded two first round picks for a guy who may not be on the team after this season. All to get bounced in the first round.
Goran
Wade
Deng
Bosh
Whiteside

Pretty damn good

That trade doesn't make sense for Miami. Miami should be in rebuilding mode, not trading away picks. Wade is going down fast and Deng isn't far behind him.

It makes sense in the fact that its a whole different attraction to FA now. Add depth over the off season and they aren't very far from title contention. Assuming hassan is for real that is

Not sure how they are going to afford any legit FAs when Dragic is looking to get paid near a max deal. Bosh, Wade, and Deng are already getting paid. On top of that, they just are not that good of a team. They will be a 6 seed at best, and I don't even see that happening. They are in or near the bottom of the league in ppg, rpg, and apg. I can't see dragic making THAT much of a difference.

They're at least 3years out. And that's only if their picks starting panning out. Noel isn't a star, and apparently they aren't thrilled with Embid and his work effort.

Just because the West is really deep doesn't meant that the East is shitty. Cleveland, Chicago, Atlanta, Toronto, Washington can all play with anyone in the West.

Stopped reading there. Kidding, but that part of the day is the worst for sports radio. I was listening to Mad Dog Radio the other evening, and how Christopher Russo has a fucking radio station named after him is baffling. His opinions and perspective on sports are fine, but I've never heard someone sound so clumsy and borderline-dementia on the radio.

No, the standings is what indicates the east is shitty. Those five teams you mentioned could compete, but the other nine are garbage.

And what does that matter? The goal is to win a championship, you're either a contender or you're not.

The standings would indicate the east is filled with a bunch of non-contenders then. You tell me your system of evaluation, though.

I look at it in terms of who can legitimately win a title. In the East there is Cleveland, Atlanta, Chicago, Washington. In the West there is SA, GS, OKC, MEM imo. Not a believer in Portland, Houston or the Clippers. I'm skeptical on the Warriors as well, shoot way too many jump shots.

Not arguing the depth of the conference, but those top 5 can play with anyone in the West, and they have an equal number of contenders in my mind. Of course just my opinion though.

I could honestly see any of the 8 out west winning it. The east contenders are Cleveland, atl and maybe Toronto

lol, I wouldn't blame you. I really hate the show, but there is nothing else. I sure as hell don't take what they say for gospel (like some here do with certain radio shows in Cleveland). I just thought it was funny they were jerking off the the Dragic trade.

This. In the east it's the Bulls and cavs. That's it.

If they get there defense fixed, I'll put them in the contender category. As of right now I don't see them being able to beat any of the big dogs out west. There defense is significantly worse this year in every category compared to last year. They are not a lock to make it out of the first round, especially if they have to go on the road to Washington.

I don't understand how anybody is eliminating the hawks already. They are really fucking good and play extremely well as a team. They are the only team that scares me right now in the east as a Cavs fan.

Come on, the Bulls are built for the playoffs. Two 7 footers, good guard play, and mvp caliber wing player.

Defense is always gonna come around come playoff time.

As a cavs fan, Chicago is the only team in the east I really don't want to play.

If the bulls played the wizards today in a 7 game series, I'm taking the wizards. The bulls have a higher ceiling... But ATM I'm not scared of Chicago in a 7 game series.
