What'd you think of the game BR? Excited yet or fluke win?
I'll keep my enthusiasm tempered. So far, Pettine is doing a lot of "right" things. No Gordon, no Tate, no Cameron? No problem! It takes a helluva game plan to take a journeyman QB with a rag tag group of WR's and two rookie RB's to beat one of the teams that many predicted to go to the Super Bowl.
I like what I'm seeing, so far. I just hope that Hoyer keeps gaining more & more confidence. Hopefully that will shut up some of the JFF lovers so he can sit and learn until it's time.
The additions of Dansby & Whitner can't be underestimated. They bring a needed swagger to this defense that they haven't had in awhile. I'm still concerned about their run D, which I thought was going to be a strength.
As usual, with the Browns, they will live & die by QB play.
They showed that clip of Peyton's coaching debut back in 2006 against the Browns. I remember that game vividly. First play of the game, Charlie Frye hits Braylon with a bomb for a TD only to be called back by a Kevin Shaffer holding penalty. Browns were supposed to beat the dismal Saints that day. Peyton's debut was the turning point for the Saints. Hopefully, this Browns victory, with the new HC, will start that process for the Browns.
Sure as Hell is nice to walk into work on Monday riding a "W" than the usual.
