I'm not greatly familiar with Ohio above Columbus....why is Toledo so in love with Michigan/Detroit? Everywhere has fans crossing borders but when it comes to tv ratings they are going for the greatest number....I just would guess Toledo would be a bigger Browns market than Lions.

Its closer than most boarders. The city limit stops with the border. Detroit is about 45 miles north.

EDIT: That's from my old house, which was even further south.

I would imagine proximity. 45-60 minute drive to Detroit vs 2-2.5 hours to Cleveland.

Plus, the AA hockey team and AAA baseball team for Detroit are in Toledo.

This is why I hate the Browns being on FOX, because FOX deal is with NFC (not sure of all rules). When Browns play on CBS they do not have anyone to compete with in the Toledo market. The other closest AFC teams routinely on CBS are Bengals and Colts. I've never seen Toledo not show the Browns on CBS.

For the most part, yes. But the NFL has changed the policy for road teams playing conference opponents. CBS can now broadcast an NFC vs NFC game, should the NFL want/allow.

EDIT: This is what is happening today. Usually the AFC road teams are on CBS and NFC road teams on FOX. But, obviously this rule has been modified cause it isn't 1970 anymore. Hope for your sake it doesn't happen often this year.

I just switched Browns Defense to Green Bay for my fantasy team. GB DEF was available as a free agent.

Also, just realized I read your post wrong and it's the Bengals taking the slot on CBS, not Lions.

But, point remains. Be prepared for the Lions to possibly be on CBS this year if they have a solid record and enticing match-up.

Prob a smart move. You don't wanna start a defense against brees

Its not quite 2+ hours. Depends on where you are going. You can hit the burbs in about 1.5.

But yes, Detroit is at least twice as close.

Browns only have one other game scheduled for FOX against TB on November 2nd. Lions are on a bye that week, so I I should be OK>

Nice. That works out well.

Just hope the Lions aren't flexed into a CBS game and bump the Browns (also on CBS) off your TV.

But, I don't think the NFL has given CBS or FOX flex power yet in regards to swapping networks.

Must win game for both teams.

Playoff odds for teams that start 0-2 fall to 12% historically.
