My understanding is that this is for the 2014 league year while Gordon tested positive in 2013, hence it fell under old rules. Sounds like they're trying to make a weak ass compromise to let him play.

Lots of people saying he should file the injunction after the reduced suspension. Likely to win, or have league reduce to 4 because of the fact he might win.

No no way should they admit he didn't fail a test, and still serve time. He needs to fight that if it's reduced.

That is the one thing I am trying to understand. I wonder if this was switched around and they were going to strengthen the rules that he broke would browns fans be all on board with this same argument..

I'll believe mkc over Shawn Starr lol. Guy is in the army In South Carolina and has 4 kids. Not exactly a beacon for nfl news

I don't get how it's another violation/offense. If the policy is changed, so that his is reduced, doesn't that mean he DIDNT test positive??

I'd heard:

1st offense = 2 game checks (Steeler potheads dodge a bullet-shocker)

2nd offense = 4 game checks

3rd offense = 4 games

4th offense = 10 games (odd number)

It sounds like it caps at that so if you've reached 4 offenses, smoke away....max may be 10 games.

As a side note, Gordon won't be out of the woods at 10 games. He's staring at a DUI trial in November which would tack on 2 more games.

Yes, MKC lead with this story but the big names (Schefter, Mort, etc) have confirmed it. Guess we'll have to see.

How the fuck does Gordon have 4 offenses, especially under the new policy he doesn't even fail the test....

ALso, the steelers RBs were caught by the cops and charged for driving under the influence. They never tested positive.
