When they are in official capacity they have to wear certain things. No diff than when Kitna was wearing some religious hat.

I got back after midnight and had very little contact of what happened over the weekend.....what the fuck happened to the steelers? I know the buccs were embarrassed by the falcon and all but man..to lose that game is unacceptable and a season changer for the worst.

In short: Over the final few minutes of the game, they pulled off the world's best Cleveland Browns impersonation for finding hilariously bizarre ways to lose a game.

They led 24-20 (after not really doing anything in the second half after scoring on their first possession of it) and made a tough defensive stop to get the ball back deep in their territory with a bit under 2 minutes to play and TB having two TOs left.

On their drive, instead of running out the clock, they wound up going 3-and-out and having to punt it back. They would have gotten a first down on their second down play, if not for how they'd gotten a 5-yard penalty before that play, so the 8 yards on Ben's pass to Wheaton only made it 3rd and 5 instead of 1st and 10.

Punter has a shit punt (29 yards) to give the ball back to TB on the Pitt 46 with under a minute and no timeouts. So they immediately hit a 41-yard pass and scored shortly after.

For the cherry on top of the shit sundae, just watch their attempt to do a trick "do a bunch of laterals and hope something happens" play to end the game. Even by the usual standards of this play, theirs was sad.

I've never seen a ref throw a flag at a press conference. That's pure league office shit (aka: GODell looking to "protect the shield" by forcing players to only wear clothes from sponsors and fining people who don't comply with really important things like that).

A better comparison would be how Tebow was allowed to Tebow during his career.

I was extremely pissed at the late offensive play-calling. If they don't get a first down, even with a good punt, Tampa would probably have about 60 yards to go in a minute and I don't think I trust the defense against a team in a two-minute drill in that situation. ..and week before the announcers bitched when the browns passed in that similiar situation and didnt connect! Still very disappointing!

BTW it's not just RG3 and Goodell. Kitbag was fined when he was with the Bengals for wearing a hat with a cross on it at his press conference.

They pay the leagues, not the players. The sponsor doesnt control the player, unless they have the player under contract.

But if someone wears a giant Addidas logo to the podium because they are sponsored by Addidas, the NFL isnt going to stop them and make them wear a Nike shirt. Its all about the personal message.
